Detective Pikachu is a surprisingly charming Telltale-like game filled with humor, twists, and a sassy electric rodent. More than a mish-mash of minigames, it's a shockingly solid title with first-class voice acting.
This game was my favorite game on the entire system, and it also just makes sense. The content like the tips and so which are rewatchable are a great way to make the game great and the puzzles are simply not too easy and the graphics are really awesome for the 3ds
I love this game, it seems to me an excellent visual adventure with elements of mystery, the combination of the Pokemon world with a realistic world is really brilliant, the personalities of the 2 protagonists combine very well, and all the dialogues are entertained just like the puzzles.
Detective Pikachu is a fun game that combines Sherlock and Pokémon. There are a lot of familiar elements from the Pokémon games in there, that are a blast to recognize as a Pokémon fan.
While it may feel too simple at moments and its gameplay not as varied as it would be expected, it's a good departure from the Pokémon world for one of its most recognizable characters and one which will be a pleasant surprise for many.
The quirkiness, presentation, strong voice acting, and characters help push past the simplistic gameplay and the narrative the game tells is surprisingly engaging.
Detective Pikachu had a lot of potential, but failed to deliver an awesome Pokémon experience. This game might be enjoyable if you are searching for a short game meant for the younger players. Otherwise this game is way too simplistic.
I seriously don't understand why this game only got a 70 and a 7.6 user rating, its seriously a great game. A great storyline, solid graphics, and filled with minigames and puzzles. Aimed for a younger audience, and also worth picking up for those who don't know much about Pokemon. The only thing I can really can complain about is the giant cliffhanger at the end which would seriously make me stay in a locked coffin filled with spiders for 24 hours for a sequel.
Even though the pokemon characters are used brilliantly, the pacing is insanely slow, ultimately rendering the game intolerable. I came to the table WANTING to love the game, painfully made it halfway through, then, with a sigh of relief tinged with disappointment, removed the cartridge from my 3DS
