A delightfully engaging and likeable Nintendo DS game that might not be perfect but is still a game worth a look if you like decent platform games with good puzzles.
Mister Slime features some cool control ideas and a few innovative gameplay elements. Unfortunately, it can be a struggle to stick with the gameplay for extended periods of time; there's little actual excitement to be had, since the slow pace plods on steadily.
The problem here is that the concept wears out its welcome far too quickly and without enough diversity in the gameplay you will find yourself forcing your way through the later levels.
The trouble comes when Slimy has to slingshot himself into enemies, causing damage to himself more often than not. [July 2008, p.88]
Ultimately, Mister Slime feels like a decent level-traversal concept in search of a more attractive, ambitious game.
Mister Slime is the dictionary definition of bland.
