Timinthesky Withdiamonds gave it a6:
I agree exactly with the sole negative review above (and I dropped the book after 100 pages). It didn't seem believable; it seemed like a cute store dreamt up by a young writer, and it seemed superficial.
Beverly S gave it an8:
Lyrical prose, well-drawn characters, some confusions as to the narrator, I used color coded markers to identify them. Book club selection.
LAURIE F gave it a9:
one of the best of the year! Suggested to me by my psychiatrist--he was right when he, too, said that Summer Guest was one of the best he'd read.
