Alias is one of those rare action dramas where all the elements - plot, characters, production design, costumes, soundtrack and performances - come together to form one perfect hour of television. [30 Sept 2001, p.56]Posted Mar 15, 2013 -

It's not often that a movie that's important also manages to be educational and entertaining. Five is all three.- Posted Oct 10, 2011

The good news is the characters created here are so interesting that we want to know more about them. Whedon continues to slay viewers. [19 Sept 2002, p.48]Posted Feb 23, 2013 -

The show runs rampant with rapid-fire dialogue and sly pop-culture references. The cast is strong.- Posted Apr 6, 2011

When Happy Endings is funny, it's need-to-pause-the-DVR-because-I'm-laughing-so-hard funny. And viewers should easily be able to commit to that.- Posted Apr 13, 2011

This nebulous look at the blurry line between crime and the law is already being done better on FX's "The Shield." That series...is instantly more approachable and arresting. In The Wire, the characters' hazy morality is so ill-defined and sketchy that it's hard to care about them. West is a compelling lead, but his purpose and motivation aren't clear. He's a tough sell as the show's main protagonist. [1 June 2002, p.23]Posted Apr 29, 2013 -

Underneath the crude humor, there's a sweetness and an honesty to the show. The duo's struggle with weight is believable. -

While some of the best dramas can dovetail a character's work and personal lives, Prime Suspect might be better off, at least in the beginning, focusing on solving the weekly case.- Posted Sep 22, 2011

Tierney and Morrow are both seasoned TV stars, but even they can't make The Whole Truth ring true. -

Better With You has the foundation to be an engaging comedy. Right now, it's difficult to commit to a long-term relationship -

While the pace of the series definitely picks up in the second night, Bag of Bones doesn't pull off the scares of King's previous works such as Misery" or "The Shining" nor does it have the poignancy of his "The Shawshank Redemption."- Posted Dec 8, 2011

Can we please have a moratorium on voice-over narration? This lazy device is being overused to convey what simple dialogue should. In John Doe, the title character's innermost thoughts won't stop. [19 Sept 2002, p.48]Posted Feb 24, 2013 -
