Final 2011 film awards scorecard

Added in final update (Feb. 26): Academy Award winners, Independent Spirit Award winners

Below is our current running tally of the most honored 2011 films and individuals, which will be updated daily throughout awards season (December - February) as new nominations and awards are announced. For each category, our points system works as follows:

  • 3 points for winning an award
  • 2 points for each runner-up (not common, but a few groups award a 2nd place prize)
  • 1 point for being nominated (and not winning), or for being listed for an award that does not pick a winner
Don't forget to check page 2 of this report, where you can find all of the individual nominations and awards announced throughout awards season (from over 40 different organizations overall).

You were saying, movie2187? And I agree with you, it probably is the best film ever made.

  • movie2187

The Tree of Life has no chance at the oscars...Shame because it is probably the best film ever made (yea, I just said it)

  • Potter17

Rebel6794, I also am really surprised by the lack of recognition for Harry Potter. Deathly Hallows, Part 2 is one of the most acclaimed films of the year, and it is not getting nominations for best picture at any circle of professional critics (expect at NBR), while less acclaimed films are being constantly nominated (such as The Help and The Ides of March). I am starting to think that film awards are more about buzz rather than quality or suddenly critics started to think that Deathly Hallows 2 wasn't a good movie.

I'm really taken aback at the lack of nominations for HP Part 2. With its universal acclaim given by film critics and audiences alike, it is a slap in the face to such a supposedly well-made movie. Movies don't get 87's or 96%'s out of reverence for the ending of a series; they get them because they are technically or artfully astounding to viewers. Maybe it's just me...

It's included only association that at least award Hollywood films. So you'll not see European Film Awards because it's only award European films, even European Film Awards is very big event. Am I right?

  • MEESTERMAJICK

@pookpooi oh. yeah. you're right. I didn't scrolled down lower. Thank you though.
