Falling Off The Sky LISTEN (Rolling Stone)
Fans of power pop rejoice! Falling Off The Sky marks the first studio album from cult faves The dB's in 25 years, and the first record featuring the band's original lineup of Peter Holsapple, Chris Stamey, Will Rigby, and Gene Holder in three decades. Fans of the band—as well as those of early R.E.M. or other jangly Southern alt-rock—should find much to like on the new record, which sounds like it could have been recorded in their early 1980s heyday.
John Denver The RCA Albums Collection 25xCD
Massive box set includes all 24 of Denver's RCA albums released from 1969 to 1986 as well as his 1966 LP John Denver Sings; many are appearing on CD for the first time

Jimmy Fallon
Blow Your Pants Off
The second album of musical comedy stylings from the Late Night host (he released another LP a decade ago) boasts an enviable roster of collaborators: Paul McCartney, Eddie Vedder, Justin Timberlake, Dave Matthews, Stephen Colbert, and Bruce Springsteen. You'll find your favorites from Fallon's show, including "Tebowie," "History of Rap," "Slow Jam the News," and a couple of the host's excellent Neil Young impersonations.

Hot Chip
In Our Heads LISTEN
British dance outfit Hot Chip return Tuesday with their fifth album in eight years, and it's another good one. (Those five albums, by the way, don't even include releases from the various side projects for the band's members, like The 2 Bears and About Group.) In Our Heads finds the group switching labels from DFA/Astralwerks to the even more indie-minded Domino, but otherwise it's business as usual: an infectious lead single (“Night and Day”), lyrics that run the gamut from playful to sentimental, and dancefloor-friendly music that reveals an eclectic variety of influences.
The Hundred in the Hands Red Night LISTEN (3voor12)
J Dilla Rebirth of Detroit
Artists such as Danny Brown and Amp Fiddler rap over unreleased beats by the late J Dilla

Synthetica LISTEN (Soundcloud)
The Emily Haines-fronted indie rockers (who share two members, including Haines, with fellow Canadians Broken Social Scene) return Tuesday with a successor to 2009's Fantasies 77. Synthetica is produced by the band's own Jimmy Shaw, and Lou Reed guests on penultimate track "The Wanderlust." The early reviews suggest an improvement over the previous album.
Mice Parade Live: England Vs France

Wymond Miles Under the Pale Moon
Solo album for Fresh & Onlys frontman
Motion City Soundtrack Go LISTEN
Niki & The Dove Instinct
Available digitally (exclusive to iTunes) today; CD release August 7

Piano Magic Life Has Not Finished With Me Yet
POP ETC LISTEN (3voor12)
The Morning Benders are dead; long live Pop Etc. After only recently discovering that the word "bender" doesn't always mean "robot with a shiny metal ass," in some countries, the Bay Area indie trio adopted the more generic Pop Etc. as its new moniker, which will officially be inaugurated this week with an album of the same name. Not everyone is fond of the new name, but the group did attract fans with its sophomore set Big Echo 72 in 2010. Whether it keeps them around after adopting a much poppier sound with the new album is another question, though having Danger Mouse on hand to supervise the recording couldn't hurt.
Grace Potter & The Nocturnals The Lion The Beast The Beat LISTEN
Includes several tracks co-written by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys; a deluxe edition adds duets with Willie Nelson and Kenny Chesney
Clockwork Angels
While the veteran Candian rock band hasn't released an album in five years, it takes about that long just to set up Neil Peart's drum kit. The trio produced Clockwork Angels along with Nick Raskulinecz (returning from 2007's Snakes & Arrows 73), and the album features a loose steampunk concept about a young man on a quest in a world of "lost cities, pirates, anarchists, an exotic carnival, and a rigid Watchmaker." A 33-city tour kicks off in September.

SpaceGhostPurrp Mysterious Phonk: Chronicles of SpaceGhostPurrp LISTEN (Prefix)

Looking 4 Myself
Preceded by one of his better singles in years—the Diplo-produced "Climax"—Usher's new album Looking 4 Myself promises to be more adventurous than the singer's disappointing (but Grammy-winning) 2010 effort Raymond v. Raymond 57. Indeed, the singer has used the term "revolutionary pop" to describe the sound of his seventh LP, which features production from Salaam Remi, Swedish House Mafia, Empire of the Sun, Max Martin, and the Neptunes and collaborations with Pharrell Williams and Rick Ross. A deluxe edition of the new album adds four tracks.
Variety Lights Central Flow LISTEN
Various Bernie OST
Various Now That's What I Call Country Vol. 5
volcano! Piñata LISTEN
Waka Flocka Flame
Triple F Life LISTEN (Stereogum)
Friends, fans and family are the F's in question as the rapper returns with his second solo album and first release after last fall's collaboration with Gucci Mane, Ferrari Boyz 57. Drake, Trey Songz, Ludacris, Nicki Minaj, and Meek Mill are among the guests on the new album.
Wintersleep Hello Hum LISTEN
Witch Mountain Cauldron of the Wild
Bobby Womack
The Bravest Man in the Universe LISTEN (3voor12)
Building on a late-career resurgence that kicked off with an appearance on the third Gorillaz album Plastic Beach 77, legendary soul singer Bobby Womack returns this week with a new album, his first set of original material since 1994. Womack once again teams with Gorillaz’ Damon Albarn, who serves as producer on The Bravest Man in the Universe along with XL Recordings head Richard Russell. The disc includes a collaboration with polarizing singer Lana Del Rey on the song "Dayglo Reflection." So far, critics seem to be enjoying the contrast of Womack's voice and Albarn's modern electronic backdrop.
