Paul Anka Duets LISTEN
Tyler Bates God Of War - Ascension OST
Jeff Beal House of Cards OST
James Blake
The young English producer/singer-songwriter returns with a follow-up to his Mercury Prize-nominated debut, and early reviews suggest that he has another strong collection on his hands. Overgrown includes collaborations with Brian Eno and RZA (sadly, not on the same track), and puts the emphasis on Blake's growing songwriting talents.
Jake Bugg Jake Bugg LISTEN (Rolling Stone)
Eric Church Live: Caught in the Act
Dawes Stories Don't End LISTEN (Amazon; today only)
Device Device
Drowning Pool Resilience
Electronic Electronic 2xCD
Double-disc reissue of 1991 debut adds B-sides and rarities, plus the non-album single "Disappointed" [UK only]
Keaton Henson Birthdays
House of Love She Paints Words in Red
First album in 8 years
Il Volo Mas Que Amor
Boney James The Beat
The Knife
Shaking the Habitual 2xCD LISTEN (Official site)
The icy electronic beats of the Swedish brother-sister duo return Tuesday after a seven-year absence (which, admittedly, did include contributions to an opera score, as well as a side project). Their new double album (also available in edited form as a single disc) features over 96 minutes of new music across just 13 tracks (one of which nears 20 minutes), making for a more challenging listen compared to the group's poppier early work. Despite the lack of immediacy, critics are hailing the record as a "triumph."
M83 Oblivion OST LISTEN (CoS)
Cliff Martinez The Company You Keep OST
Steve Mason Monkey Minds In The Devil's Time
New solo album from former Beta Band leader [US release]
John Medeski A Different Time
Brad Paisley Wheelhouse
Paramore Paramore
First album since the departure of co-founders Josh and Zac Farro
Mike Patton The Place Beyond the Pines OST
The Postal Service
Give Up - 10th Anniversary Edition 2xCD
It looks like there won't ever be another Postal Service album, but that's OK when their one and only LP still sounds as good as ever. This 10th anniversary version of the 2003 debut by the indietronica duo of Dntel's Jimmy Tamborello and Death Cab for Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard adds a second disc with two new songs as well as covers, B-sides, and remixes.
Pyyramids Brightest Darkest Day LISTEN
Molly Ringwald Except Sometimes
Sparks Two Hands One Mouth: Live in Europe 2xCD
Stone Sour House Of Gold & Bones Part 2
Tyga Hotel California
Julieta Venegas Los Momentos
Kurt Vile
Wakin on a Pretty Daze LISTEN (3voor12)
Former War on Drugs member Kurt Vile has been slowly making a name as a solo artist since leaving that band five years ago, with his most recent release, Smoke Ring for My Halo, his best LP yet. His new fifth album may be even better, with critics praising Daze's 11 new foggy, introspective rock tunes as among Vile's best compositions to date, with production a notch above that of the previous LP.
Villagers {Awayland}
US release
Volbeat Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies
White Fence Cyclops Reap LISTEN (Pitchfork)
Young Man Beyond Was All Around Me
