  • Janelle Monáe has announced a September 10 release date for her sophomore album The Electric Lady. Guests will include Prince, Miguel, and Erykah Badu.
  • After a 12-year recording absence, indie rockers The Dismemberment Plan are returning with a new album. Uncanney Valley will be out on October 15th; Pitchfork has the details.
  • MGMT have announced release details for their third album. Produced by Dave Fridmann, the self-titled MGMT will hit stores on 9/17.
  • While Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore has already delivered the first album from his new Chelsea Light Moving project, it's now Kim Gordon's turn to introduce her own new band. Body/Head will make their full-length debut with Coming Apart, out September 10th on Matador. The one-time instrumental project now features Gordon on vocals.
  • Moby has a new album, Innocents, set for an October 1st release; guest contributors include Wayne Coyne, Mark Lanegan, and Damien Jurado.
  • Occasional Kim Gordon collaborator Yoko Ono will release a new album this fall; Take Me to the Land of Hell (out 9/17) includes collaborations with tUnE-yArDs, Nels Cline, ?uestlove, Andrew Wyatt, and the current Plastic Ono Band lineup (featuring members of Cibo Matto and Cornelius).
  • Willis Earl Beal will release his second album, Nobody Knows, on September 10th. Cat Power will guest on one track.
  • A re-formed Au Revoir Simone will return with third album Move in Spectrums on September 24th. - CoS
