Four of the English band's five previous albums scored 82 or higher (the fifth, at 78, wasn't far behind), which means that any new Elbow album automatically qualifies for our most-anticipated list. That's true even when it's as awkwardly titled as this supposedly "experimental" (and Brooklyn-influenced) sixth LP, which was recorded partially at Peter Gabriel's Real World Studios. And early reviews suggest that Elbow has another winner.
Sara Evans Slow Me Down
Gallon Drunk The Soul of the Hour
God Module False Face
Chlöe Howl The Rumour EP

Joan As Police Woman The Classic LISTEN (3voor12)

Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers featuring Edie Brickell Live CD+DVD
Love Letters LISTEN (iTunes Radio)
The London indie-pop outfit return with their fourth album, which follows their Mercury Prize-nominated 2011 effort The English Riviera. The new set ditches some of Metronomy's electronic dance-pop for an even wider sonic palette that borrows from multiple eras and genres.

No Mythologies to Follow
Danish electro-pop artist Karen Marie Ørsted, who records under the name MØ (which, in turn, is pronounced "moo"), releases her debut full-length this week after winning fans around the world with recent singles like the Diplo-aided "XXX 88", "Pilgrim", "Glass", and "Waste of Time", as well as singing on the Avicii cut "Dear Boy."
Ozomatli Place in the Sun
Jeremy Sams Le Week-End OST
Tensnake Glow
Various Divergent OST LISTEN (Pitchfork)

Dean Wareham
Dean Wareham LISTEN (KCRW)
After fronting two legendary indie bands—Galaxie 500 and Luna—and then recording a series of albums with his wife, Britta Phillips, Dean Wareham is moving on to the next stage of his career: solo artist. Aside from the presence of a drum machine, the proceedings here (produced by My Morning Jacket's Jim James) really aren't all that different from Wareham's past work—and that's a good thing.

In the studio / coming soon

  • Despite increasing visibility in recent months, U2 will neither release a new album nor tour this year. Billboard reported last week that the band's long-delayed 13th studio album, produced by Danger Mouse, has now been pushed back until 2015 to allow for additional studio sessions, this time with producers Ryan Tedder and Paul Epworth. ... Today, however, The Guardian cites an unnamed band representative as indicating that the album will still arrive in 2014, contrary to reports.
  • There is better news for Tool's long-delayed fifth studio album; Crave reports that the band is "100% done" with recording, and the LP should be out later this year.
  • Iggy Azalea's long-in-the-works debut album The New Classic will drop April 22nd.
  • Morrissey has titled his upcoming album World Peace Is None Of Your Business, and it should reach stores in late June or early July.
  • Lily Allen's upcoming album Sheezus has been given a May 5 release date.
  • Fucked Up will release a new album, Glass Boys, this summer; here's a trailer.
  • If you thought you'd have to go more than three months without a new Guided By Voices album, think again; Cool Planet will be in stores on May 13th.
  • Bob Mould has a new album, Beauty & Ruin, arriving on June 3rd. - Pitchfork
  • Future's album Honest will be out on April 22nd.
  • Yep Roc will release Artificial Sweeteners, the latest from Fujiya & Miyagi, on May 6th.
