Recent artist and industry news

  • This year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees include first-timers Nirvana, Peter Gabriel, Hall & Oates, The Zombies, YES, Linda Ronstadt, and The Replacements, who join returnees such as KISS, Chic, and NWA. Inductees will be selected by a group of 600 voters and announced in December.
  • Courtney Love's autobiography, Courtney Love: My Story, will be out on December 15th, just in time for the holidays.
  • New York venue Roseland Ballroom may close its doors in April, reports Billboard.

  • R. Kelly's next album Black Panties has been delayed a month, to December 10th.
  • Britney Jean is the new title for Britney Spears' upcoming LP, out December 3rd.
  • Neneh Cherry has recorded her first solo album in 16 years with producer Four Tet; Robyn will guest on the still-untitled LP, due early next year. - CoS
  • Damien Jurado returns on January 21st with Brothers and Sisters of the Eternal Son; details and a trailer at Secretly Canadian.
  • Merge will release the next Hospitality album, Trouble, on January 28th.
  • 7 Days of Funk is a collaboration between Snoop Dogg (now calling himself Snoopzilla) and Dâm-Funk; look for an album on Stones Throw on December 10th. - Pitchfork
