Metacritic's 5th Annual Oscar Prediction Poll

Image

As we do each year at this time, we'd like to invite you to demonstrate your movie awards savvy by predicting the winners of the 86th Annual Academy Awards.

Last year, Metacritic users performed decently (but not spectacularly) as a group, correctly guessing 15 of the 24 (62.5%) categories. (A group of industry experts, on the other hand, correctly picked 17 out of 24 winners.) Our top individual user last year had 20 correct picks.

Can you do better this year and out-guess the so-called experts? Make your predictions below.

Some rules and notes: You may vote only once. Voting will close at noon PST on Wednesday, February 26, 2014. We'll reveal our users' consensus picks (as well as those made by a selection of industry experts) on this site the following day, and, after the Oscars ceremony airs on March 2nd, we'll determine how accurate your picks were.

If the poll does not appear above, please go here to enter your picks.

I loved Nebraska and Bruce Dern's performance but I know the awards will be swept by the other ones mentioned . Oscars are bought and paid for through campaigning by the movie studios so it reallly doesn't matter in the end

Haha I really don't get why everyone hates American Hustle. I'm watching all of the Oscar movies except those that aren't available (only some of the shorts). So far my favourites are definitely Dallas Buyers Club, Wolf of Wall Street, Gravity, Nebraska and Her. 12 Years a Slave was a great film by no means but it was all pretty much what I thought it would be, and so that takes away from it for me personally though of course I acknowledge it's a fantastic film.

It's usually the shorts categories where my predictions get off track. Gravity will likely sweep the technical awards, so that's at least a safe bet. Cauron will hopefully get a well-deserved statue for Director as well.

American Hustle deserves not one oscar. Only worthy nomination is Lawrence.

Go 12 YEARS A SLAVE and HER!!!!

i hope american hustle gets a grand total of ZERO awards

Her, 12 Years A Slave, Gravity, & Dallas Buyers Club should be the winners this year. Four best films of the year, and all time greats.
