Nat Wolff, Margaret Qualley, Lakeith Stanfield, Shea Whigham, and Willem Dafoe star.

The second live-action comedy series (following Fox's short-lived but well-received 2001 effort) based on the cult comics of the same name stars Peter Serafinowicz (Look Around You, Guardians of the Galaxy) as the blue-suited hero. (The decently reviewed pilot, inexplicably, centers more on his sidekick Arthur, played by Griffin Newman.) Ben Edlund, who created the comics and the previous series, is also the creator and a producer of the Amazon series, joined by fellow producer Barry Sonnenfeld and director Wally Pfister (best known as Christopher Nolan's longtime cinematographer).

MacFarlane himself stars alongside Adrianne Palicki (as his first officer and ex-wife), Scott Grimes, Penny Johnson Jerald, and Chad L. Coleman. Jon Favreau directs the pilot. Star Trek: Discovery NEW Trailer Sci-fi/Drama CBS 8:30p
The first new Star Trek series since Enterprise launched in 2001 gets a late start following a longer-than-planned production process that saw series co-creator Bryan Fuller depart as showrunner. The other co-creator, Alex Kurtzman (who was a writer on both J.J. Abrams-directed Trek films), remains on board as a producer, along with The Wrath of Khan director Nicholas Meyer, while Trek newcomers Gretchen J. Berg and Aaron Harberts are running the show. Discovery is set about a decade before events in the original series (and will share at least one character—Spock's father Sarek, here played by James Frain), though the main focus will be the ship's first officer (The Walking Dead's Sonequa Martin-Green) rather than its captain (Jason Isaacs). The cast also includes Maulik Pancholy, Michelle Yeoh, Doug Jones, Rekha Sharma, Rainn Wilson, and Mary Wiseman. After tonight, the series will be exclusive to the CBS All Access streaming service, with seven additional new episodes (including a second new episode tonight) arriving weekly this fall, with the second half of the season launching in January. A Talking Trek aftershow also streams on All Access after each episode.

The Brave NEW Trailer Drama NBC 10p
This military procedural (from one of the producers of Showtime's Homeland) centers on an elite group of undercover Special Ops troops and the analysts at the Defense Intelligence Agency who lead them. Anne Heche and Mike Vogel star. The series comes from Dean Georgaris, a relative newcomer to TV who wrote the screenplay for the 2004 remake of The Manchurian Candidate as well as a Lara Croft movie.
Kevin Can Wait Comedy CBS 9p
Leah Remini, who appeared in the season 1 finale, joins the series as a regular for season 2, while season 1 co-star Erinn Hayes has been dropped from the cast.
Me, Myself & I NEW Trailer Comedy CBS 9:30p
This uniquely structured single-camera comedy focuses on one man's life in three different time periods. John Larroquette plays him as a 65-year-old (25 years in the future), Bobby Moynihan stars as the 40-year-old, present-day version, and youngster Jack Dylan Grazer will play him as a 14-year-old in scenes set in 1991. Dan Kopelman (Galavant, Malcolm in the Middle) is the creator of the series, which also stars Brian Unger, Jaleel White, and Mandell Maughan.

Young Sheldon NEW Trailer Comedy CBS 8:30p
This spinoff from The Big Bang Theory centers on that show's Sheldon Cooper back when he was a 9-year-old child attending high school (not a typo) in East Texas. You obviously won't see Jim Parsons (who plays Cooper in the original series) in the prequel—Iain Armitage (Big Little Lies) plays the youngster—but you will hear him narrating the series. Annie Potts co-stars as Meemaw, while Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro are among the producers, and Jon Favreau directs tonight's opener. Special sneak preview tonight; the series returns on November 2 in its normal timeslot (Thursdays at 8:30p).

Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders NEW Trailer Drama NBC 10p
Dick Wolf's latest NBC series finds the producer venturing into the (apparently) still-hot true crime genre. This eight-episode series examines one of the most sensational 1990s criminal cases not involving a former NFL player: the trial of brothers Lyle and Erik Menendez for the murders of their parents. Edie Falco plays defense attorney Leslie Abramson, while other cast members include Julianne Nicholson, Josh Charles, Heather Graham, and Anthony Edwards. Law & Order vet Rene Balcer writes and serves as showrunner, and Lesli Linka Glatter (Mad Men, Twin Peaks) directs and produces. If ratings are good, consider this the first season in an ongoing anthology; if not, it's merely a miniseries.

Marvel's Inhumans NEW Trailer1 Trailer2 Drama ABC 8p
ABC's third Marvel series is not a spinoff from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (nor a replacement for the planned but delayed Inhumans feature film) but rather a separate series focusing on the super-powered Inhumans royal family. (Think of them as a Disney-owned version of the X-Men mutants.) Anson Mount (Hell on Wheels) heads the cast as Black Bolt and Serinda Swan (Ballers) plays his wife Medusa, while Scott Buck (Dexter, Marvel's Iron Fist) serves as showrunner. The Hawaii-set series will get an unconventional (and unprecedented) rollout: tonight's double-episode opener will actually debut first on 1,000 IMAX screens, with a two-week run beginning September 1st. (Those big-screen episodes will actually be filmed entirely with IMAX cameras and be financed by IMAX.) But given fans' reactions to the two trailers unveiled so far (hint: not good), it may be hard for Marvel to fill those theaters.

Ghosted NEW Trailer Comedy Fox 8:30p
From TV newcomer Tom Gormican (That Awkward Moment) comes a sort of comedic take on the X-Files formula—yes, on the same network that actually airs The X-Files. A skeptic (Craig Robinson) is paired with a brilliant true believer (Adam Scott) by a secret government agency to investigate paranormal activity in Los Angeles, uncovering a much larger, world-threatening mystery in the process. S.W.A.T. NEW Trailer Drama CBS 10p
This reboot of Aaron Spelling's mid-1970s L.A. cop drama—remembered, if at all, for its theme music—is based more on the middling 2003 feature film adaptation, though it probably will share little with either previous incarnation aside from some character names. The good news is that this new series comes from The Shield creator Shawn Ryan (along with CSI:NY and Southland writer Aaron Rahsaan Thomas), while Justin Lin (Fast Five) directs tonight's pilot and also serves as a producer. Shemar Moore (Criminal Minds) heads a cast that also includes Alex Russell, Jay Harrington, Stephanie Sigman, and Kenny Johnson.

Looks like the date here might be wrong for The Dude Perfect Show. It's listed as 7/22, but wikipedia has it as 7/16. Can this be confirmed? Thanks.

  • MediaMike

Why does Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood have an entry for both 7/17 (without a colon) & 7/24? Per other sources (wikipedia, vh1.com), it appears that 7/24 is the correct date.

WAGS Miami doesn't start until 8/20.

Hey, just a heads up but some of your listings are out of order near the end (Startup, MIndhunter and Stranger Things). Doesn't matter that much, just thought you would like to know.

Did Drop the Mic get cancelled or bump its premiere date? I can find it on my guide and it's not on the TBS website as up and coming, but it's listed above as premiering tonight.

I can't thank you enough for maintaining this site. If you would ever consider adding a field for "Date Added" I would be so grateful as it would make it easier to pick out the shows which have been added since the last visit.
