Your Metascore Predictions for 30 Summer Movies

The results are in ...

Earlier this month, we asked our users to predict the final Metascores for 30 of this summer's most notable releases (not including a few films, like The Amazing Spider-Man 2, that already had early Metascores). Now that voting has closed, and the 2,255 contributions have been tabulated, we reveal the aggregate results of these predictions below.

If history is any guide, these predictions won't be entirely accurate, but we're guessing they'll at least represent an improvement over last year We'll know the results after Labor Day, when we'll compare your guesses to the actual scores, much like we did in 2013, 2012, 2011, and 2010.

I think we went a bit high on average. I was trying to find movies where I think the prediction was too low but I cant really find them. I do think though we will be closer yet again.

  • TheQuietGamer

I have to agree that the averages were fairly high. Perhaps a little too high. There are a few that I think people are thinking too highly of *cough* Godzilla *cough.* After all the critics have been really rough on similar movies.

  • Will

Too high, but not too bad I suppose. I will say that I expect Lucy to get poor reviews; it just looks like a **** version of Limitless.

  • StreetSpirit16

Lucy and Sin City look awful, why our they so high? My bet is on Jerseys Boys for getting the highest score. It looks great and Clint Eastwood always puts out a solid effort.

  • GRubi

I think the score for Let's Be Cops is about 10 or 15 points too high.

    @Will
I'm not sure what a **** version of Limitless would be. Limitless was pretty ****.

  • MarcDoyle

I agree with most users that The Rover looks like a critical hit. I LOVED Animal Kingdom, the director's previous work. I'm fired up to see this one.

  • M9ki

Not surprised now a days movies are just plain B movies..

  • Spangle

How did Godzilla get so high? I'm expecting to see that one in the 30's, same with Planet of the Apes. Also, Blended at 35? Puhlease.

  • Mlrbly

Not sure what most are saying by most of the movie are rated to high!?!?!?! There are a couple, Yes! But most are likely close! The highest score was 73, not 93! Out of 30 movie only 4 movie got 70 or higher. And the likely bombs Transformers, Turtles, Hercules, and Blended all get low scores! What one's are over-rated? X-Men first class got a 65, so a 70 is not that big a jump, Rise of the planet of the Ape's got a 68 so again 70 not that fair off. Dragon and 22 Jump street got lower score's this round the there first film's. Godzilla my be to high, but anything that erases the 1998 version out of mind is getting a pass in my book! The only one I thought was over rated was Sin City, the first one was a visual masterpiece for 2005 so after 9 years did they make any leaps forward, not from the trailer I saw!
