Starring Steven Strait, Cliff Curtis, Camilla Belle, Tim Barlow, Marco Khan, Reece Ritchie, Mo Zinal, and Omar Sharif
In a remote mountain tribe, the young hunter D'Leh has found his heart's passion: the beautiful Evolet. But when a band of mysterious warlords raid his village and kidnap Evolet, D'Leh leads a small group of hunters to pursue the warlords to the end of the world to save her. As they venture into unknown lands for the first time, the group discovers there are civilizations beyond their own and that humankind's reach is far greater than they ever knew. At each encounter, the group is joined by other tribes who have been attacked by the slave raiders, which turns D'Leh's once-small band into an army. Driven by destiny, the unlikely warriors must battle prehistoric predators while braving the harshest elements. At their heroic journey's end, they uncover a lost civilization and learn their ultimate fate lies in an empire beyond imagination, where great pyramids reach into the skies. Here they will take their stand against a tyrannical god who has brutally enslaved their own. And it is here that D'Leh finally comes to understand that he has been called to save not only Evolet but all of civilization. (Warner Bros.)

Usually I don't review movies, but just games. However, I lately bought this movie because some friends and my father hyped me, but it was totally not worth the money, at all. I can put it in two ways, first of all I can explain how it has so many things that they definitely didn't have that time, secondly I can express how common the overall story is. The first one is simple, piramids, clear speech through tribes, boats, metal cages, pieces of cloth like that.. headband (this is different from the animal skin also seen in the movie). Sure, it can actually be that they tried to go from a point of view where there was a civilisation before, yet the fact is that it's very unlikely, if that were the case they should've went even further back into time, if you get my point. Even if you look past that, the story of a man falling in love with a lady and wanting her back, name me a damn movie where that isn't actually a sub-plot?! Seriously, movies these days aren't often trying to stand out anymore, but just trying to tell a story like we have seen so many times before in a different setting, in this case one that mixes up time periods. I am not hating, I simply didn't enjoy it and also expected quite something more serious about that time period. It didn't deliver this expectation to me at all, so I am going to have to consider this as an extremely bad movie and award a 0, which I seriously think it deserves.

The movie had okay special effects, but forget about that. The movie itself is just so unbalanced, it really should have been a documentary on National Geographic. Plus, from another view point it's really about these two "villages" fighting, and of course, d'lay (the main charactor) really likes this girl (Camille Biel) who is called by the anicent mother [Spritual Leader/healer???) the blued eyed girl who will bring "hope". But, of course, the predictable 'knights' come and take away most of the tribe's people. [sorry,i forgot their name] so than 3 men, including D'ley must travel to find their people and bring them back... however most of the knight have either murdered most of them (at their tribe) or are now slaves. So the predictable thing happens, they are transfered to this Temple City (across a very deadly desert, oh my) and finally, god forbid, D'ley kills the emper, and gets the girl, but the anicent mother dies. Yeah, no matter how close i paid attention, the movie just is boring, despite the action. BORING. SNOOZzzzzzzz.

Potentially a good movie for the under 12's otherwise insulting. Big budget low intelligence.

As a world history teacher, I realize this film is bubble gum for your brain. But to the average sixth grader, whom I teach, it's probably a visual scavenger hunt: hunter-gatherers, domesticators and cultivators, mammoths, sabre-tooths, raw meat, pyramids, boats, nomads in animal skins, villagers in cloth... I mean, come on, a realistic story about 10,000 B.C. would be as bad as mammoth's breath. Lighten up!

Any one who has bad things to say about this movie has missed to point completly! stop reading into things so much. just enjoy a movie dont try to find its faults. the story line was insane, but it was a fun movie that didn't need a lot of thought! very enjoyable.
