Variety Deborah Young

Despite a few potholes of ennui along the way, pic has enough entertainment value to cross borders and titillate auds with its plentiful nudity and uninhibited sexual mores.

Christian Science Monitor David Sterritt

Although there's quite a bit of nudity and sex, the potentially sensationalistic story is acted with sincerity and directed with a creative eye.

New York Daily News Jami Bernard

Despite a plethora of "naughty bits," it's a yawn.

The New York Times Stephen Holden

Quickly turns into an earnest talkfest (spiced with flashes of nudity and sexually explicit dialogue) that feels stiffly programmatic and ultimately false.

LA Weekly Scott Foundas

Surprisingly unsexy, uninvolving affair.

New York Post Megan Lehmann

Robbert C. gave it a10:
This is a movie that opened my eyes to the ways of true love. It's one of the few movies, that I have seen, that I don't mind watching over and over again.

John P. gave it an 8:
Well-pacted, droll farce keeps you watching to see if any of the characters really has a heart.
