MPAA RATING: PG adult comedy

Starring Cuba Gooding Jr., Paul Rae, Josh McLerran, Lochlyn Munro, and Richard Gant

Dads Charlie Hinton and Phil Ryerson are in another kid-harried adventure as they take over running a summer day camp. Up against threats of foreclosure and declining enrollment, Charlie is forced to call on his estranged father, Col. Buck Hinton, to help bring camp together and teach everyone about teamwork, perseverance and the power of forgiveness. (Sony Pictures)

Seattle Post-Intelligencer Gianni Truzzi
This belabored summertime sequel is moderately less vulgar, certainly less expensive and, if possible, even less funny than its forerunning bomb, "Daddy Day Care."

Miami Herald Connie Ogle
A tired and unnecessary sequel.

TV Guide Ken Fox
This terrible sequel to a bad movie was directed by Fred Savage, the now-grown star of "The Wonder Years," though there's no evidence of any behind-the-scenes adult supervision.

Innocuous amusement for 5- to 8-year-olds and other people stuck in the anal stage of development.

The Hollywood Reporter Michael Rechtshaffen
Any scrap of charm or honest-to-goodness humor already possessed in limited quantities by the original has been relegated to the outhouse in this sorry follow-up.

Variety John Anderson
This sequel to the 2003 Eddie Murphy comedy may appeal to auds still young enough not to have seen it all before, or who still find flatulence hilarious, or who think adults, when agitated, flail about like epileptic marionettes.

Washington Post Desson Thomson
It's gotten to the point where Gooding's presence on a marquee practically guarantees we'll be bashing our heads against the seat in front of us. Bonk, bonk, bonk.

The New York Times Matt Zoller Seitz
A recruiting poster for kids, insisting that there’s no domestic problem that military values can’t solve.

The unfunny jokes center on outhouses, vomit and flatulence. Gooding mugs, screeches, even hops up and down to no avail. Nothing can wring an ounce of comedy out of this sorry spectacle.

Entertainment Weekly Gregory Kirschling
Filling in for Eddie Murphy in a septically humored kiddie sequel to "Daddy Day Care," Gooding gives a mug-job performance that consists mainly of reacting (again and again) to nasty smells.

Despite cute kids, tough dads, and problems controlling bed-wetting and farts, Daddy Day Camp should just limp off to the nurse's tent and call it quits.

About as much fun as being given a wedgie and hung from the camp flagpole, Daddy Day Camp is an unnecessary sequel.

Wtf dofgon gave it a0:
Basically a bad sequel to an already bad movie.

Greg M. gave it a0:
The only way to stop Hollywood from making this garbage is to stop the general public from going to see it. That means everyone. Parents included. Momma, don't let your baby grow up to be retarded by letting them watch retarded films.

Smitherson gave it a5:
I liked it.. but I didn't like it at all... uh yea I like chicken. Baby farted. and Joe heard it... and smelled it.

Alejandro R. gave it a0:
I would never watch this piece of shit because it looks like a piece of shit. They couldn't get Eddie Murphy in the sequel, because he probably thought the first one brought down his reputation down the toilet. So they picked a name out of a hat, and Cuba Gooding Jr was picked. This looks like garbage so don't even dare rent this on DVD.
