Film.com Gemma Files
Horror presented without restraint or apology, as a full-bore, blood-soaked load of nomad nastiness caught in constant forward motion.
Read Full Review >LA Weekly F. X. Feeney
The film works, cleanly, without any tiresome reliance on computer graphics.
Read Full Review >The New York Times Stephen Holden
Had it exhibited a modicum of restraint, The Forsaken could have been twice as scary.
Read Full Review >Variety Joe Leydon
Chalk it up as a middling B-pic that, with a bit more wit and style, could have been at least a cult item.
Read Full Review >TV Guide Maitland McDonagh
This flashy fright flick doesn't break any new ground, but puts an attractive gloss on genre conventions.
Read Full Review >New York Post Lou Lumenick
Writer-director J.S. Cardone's low-budget mishmash offers precious little in the way of thrills and chills, much less coherent storytelling.
Austin Chronicle Marc Savlov
Apart from the fang-restraint of the nosferatu, however, there's precious little that's altogether new or for that matter shocking about this by-the-numbers thriller.
Read Full Review >New Times (L.A.) Andy Klein
Reasonably well-made and all, but it's simply too familiar, too derivative and too inferior to its predecessors to have any reason to exist.
Read Full Review >New York Daily News Jack Mathews
Vampire movies aren't what they used to be. How about a little mist, some shadows, some pale gray faces set off by stark red lips? Maestro, a little Transylvanian mood music, if you please.
Read Full Review >Chicago Reader Lisa Alspector
Its ponderous explanations about why there are vampires in Arizona in the new millennium (blah, blah, blah).
Read Full Review >Mr. Showbiz Kristy Martin
The Forsaken discourages one from caring in the least how its breed of vein-tappers came to be, or even what will happen if they take over the world.
Entertainment Weekly Bruce Fretts
While it's rarely scary, the film is often gory.

Richard gave it a 3:
Hugely uncreative rip-off of "John Carpenter's Vampires" gets two points for a strangely sick and erotic opening. Other than that, pass.
Valerie Galindo gave it a 10:
I LOVE this movie! I even bought it and I've seen it a million times!
Marc D. gave it a 2:
So much for the Film.com review (above). I should have know that when I rolled into the theater with my two buddies on opening night and we more than doubled the audience size that this was going to be bad. Brendan Fehr ("Roswell") was solid, but the movie wasn't the least bit suspenseful, scary, or even funny. Kerr Smith needs to scurry back to "Dawson's Creek" while he still has a semblance of a career.
Brazil G. gave it a 1:
Congratulations, you have officially beaten "She-Devil" and "Cabin Boy" as the worst movie of all time. Stick around for the first minute, watch the gratuitous naked boobie scene, and sneak into another movie!
Mikey gave it a 2:
If there hadn't been any nudity in this piece of garbage, the evening would have been a total loss. Brendan Fehr was good, but he couldn't save this disaster.
Elle W. gave it a 2:
A copy of "John Carpenter's Vampires" for the high-school boy set. For the classic vampires out in the desert story, see Kathryn Bigelow's "Near Dark," or even "From Dusk Till Dawn."
Paul R. gave it a 10:
Good movie and great acting by Kerr Smith.
