Starring Dane Cook, Kate Hudson, Jason Biggs, Alec Baldwin, and Lizzy Caplan

Smart, beautiful and headstrong, Alexis is the girl of Dustin’s dreams. But after only five weeks of dating, the love-struck Dustin is coming on so strong that Alexis is forced to slow things down – permanently. Devastated and desperate to get her back, Dustin turns to his best friend, Tank, the rebound specialist. A master at seducing – and offending – women, Tank gets hired by freshly dumped guys to take their ex-girlfriends out on the worst date of their lives – an experience so horrible it sends them running gratefully back to their beaus. But when Tank works his magic on Alexis, he ends up meeting the challenge of a lifetime. Alexis is the first girl who knows how to call his bluff, and Tank soon finds himself torn between his loyalty to Dustin and a strange new attraction to his best friend’s girl. (Lionsgate)

Variety Joe Leydon

Manages to distract auds from the predictability of the plot with fusillades of profanely funny dialogue and some playfully sexy chemistry generated by Cook and Hudson.

The Hollywood Reporter Frank Scheck

Eventually the conventions of romantic comedy take hold, with the humor declining precipitously.

The New York Times Laura Kern

A date not entirely to be skipped. It's a movie tailor-made for those who think it's a turn-on to passionately kiss someone to whom they've just said, "I hate you."

Entertainment Weekly Gregory Kirschling

The actors (especially Alec Baldwin, as Tank's horndog dad) elevate the material slightly, but such piffle will just fill you with longing...for a better movie.

ReelViews James Berardinelli

My Best Friend's Girl isn't just a misfire; it's a misfire compounded by a chain of miscalculations, and it's hard to figure out who this could appeal to (except, perhaps, Dane Cook's fan club).

The Globe and Mail (Toronto) Stephen Cole

An ugly, strictly-for-meatheads comedy that can only be recommended to couples who wear matching Tie Domi Toronto Maple Leafs jerseys out on a date.

The Onion (A.V. Club) Scott Tobias

Dane Cook plays a smug jerk in the dismal comedy My Best Friend's Girl. Strike that: He's only ACTING like a smug jerk.

Los Angeles Times Michael Ordona

Ultimately, its most unforgivable sin is that it's simply not funny.

Austin Chronicle Josh Rosenblatt

Say what you will about comedian-turned-actor Cook, the man is a force of nature, a tornado of verbal gymnastics and physical contortions who will do anything for a laugh.

LA Weekly Vadim Rizov

Tank's whole shtick is taking advantage of stupid women's desire to live in banal romantic comedies, but the film he's in is just as bad as any other Hudson movie.

USA Today Claudia Puig

The movie is raunchier than expected, and above all clichéd, formulaic and thoroughly sexist. Worst, it's just not very funny.

TV Guide Maitland McDonagh

It lacks the courage of its swinish convictions, and abruptly acquiesces to bland rom-com clichés three-quarters of the way to its appointed end.

Boston Globe Wesley Morris

There's a cheap thrill in watching Hudson defuse Cook's pig antics with some foulness of her own.

Jay H. gave it a5:
Fair romantic comedy, rather predictable. No one in the cast stands out, Dane Cook as a hunky irresistible guy is certainly not the best casting choice. Good score. Kate Hudson can do better.

Aron J. gave it a1:
How can you not expect a cliche plot and dialogue for a movie called "My best friends girl." The title itself screams cliche. The acting is bad, as well as the directing, and dane cook is horrible, he's nothing more than for the women.

John M. gave it a10:
This movie was spectacular. Dane Cook was amazing, and sexy, as always. As I was sitting there in my seat, watching this amazing movie, I could barely contain my excitement *wink wink*. I have only one word for this movie- Excellent.

Fred H. gave it a0:
Possibly the worst movie I have seen. How can an audience be expected to like any of these charmless people. There is one laugh in this so-called romantic comedy. Very poor, the writers simply have NO IDEA about building audience sympathy.

Mary gave it a1:
I walked in the movies expecting this movie to be something worth talking about later but walked out disgusted. It had a weak plot, it was crude and predictable. It was a waste of time, money, and gas.

Mark M. gave it a0:
Painfully unfunny. It's not surprising this movie comes from Lionsgate. It was pure torture.

Phil M gave it a10:
I think this movie's humor cannot be understood by everyone...but for those of use who got it...HILARIOUS..a laugh a minute super shock value marvel.......
