Film Threat Eric Campos
Definitely unique and it’s definitely an acquired taste.

LA Weekly Hazel-Dawn Dumpert
Writer-director John Frady's cult-film wannabe is, on one hand, almost stupefyingly amateurish, replete with tone-deaf dialogue...And yet, somehow, the film is not without humor or ingenuity.

Los Angeles Times Kevin Crust
The uninspired pothead comedy The Passion of the Reefer exhibits plenty of reefer but almost none of the passion.

The Hollywood Reporter Sheri Linden
There's an underground sensibility to The Passion of the Reefer that will resonate only with the underground characters who populate its cast.

Marc M. gave it a 9:
For the first twenty minutes, of the FIRST time I watched this film, I thought, oh no, it's going to be like this ie below average. Then something happened. I don't know what kind of weird shit this is but I haven't seen anything else like it since KENTUCK FRIED MOVIE from the 70's. It's like a very provocative, non-typical, mind f..k that ends great! If this was a strain of grass, hmmm, I'd say its a wicked creeper that by the end gets me where I want to go. I am the entertainment editor at CC/Cannabis Culture magazine, and I got an advance copy. When's the next episode come out? When can I get the DVD? Stoned or not, Passion of the Reefer is some really freaky sh.t. But it's REALLY freaky stoned!
