Summary

RATING: Not Rated

Starring Ben Lee, Rose Byrne, Miranda Richardson, Garry McDonald, Christopher Stollery, Nicholas Hammond, Francis McMahon, and Saskia Smit

Precocious, bohemian teenager Placid Lake, finishes high school and decides to do the one thing that will annoy his new age parents the most -- go straight! A few weeks with a library of self- help manuals and Placid has it sorted -- and he has the haircut and the cheap suit to prove it. (Palace Films)

The Globe and Mail (Toronto) Stephen Cole

A welcome rarity: an amiable film comedy that leaves you feeling good as opposed to feeling for your wallet.

The Hollywood Reporter Sheri Linden

Taking satiric aim at a familiar target, conformity, Australian playwright Tony McNamara's film debut is by turns incisive and broad.

Variety David Stratton

Melds an insightful observational style with some rather clunky satire and the resulting mix is uneven at best.
