LA Weekly Kim Morgan

Tiresome, and with no discernable edge or wit, Sex Sells is most powerful when it dawns on us we're watching Barnes, the leggy replacement for Suzanne Somers on "Three's Company," and Zmed, the beefcake cop from "T.J. Hooker," arrive at this point in their careers.

Los Angeles Times Kevin Thomas

A mildly amusing comedy about the vicissitudes of shooting porn that has little of the grit, sleaze and uncertainty that is the lot of the veteran pornographer striving for professionalism more often than not against all odds.

Laura T. gave it an8:
This is a pee in your pants funny film! And finally a movie that portrays women as strong, sexy and intelligent! Kim Morgan from LA Weekly is obviously a bitter failed writer. Why the hell is she so angry about this movie?! If she can't "discern" the humor, wit and intelligence of this film then she is obviously a braindead, humorless b....! The stars of this film turn in some really surprising, convincing perfomances--especially with a risky subject like porn films. Overall this is a fun, clever movie well worth seeing.

James M. gave it a9:
Really funny and clever! Priscilla Barnes looks great. And there are some grreat sight gags. Definitely worth seeing.
