Boston Globe Jay Carr
There are three main reasons for seeing Someone Like You - Ashley Judd, Ashley Judd, and Ashley Judd.
Philadelphia Inquirer Carrie Rickey
An altogether enjoyable ride.
Los Angeles Times Kevin Thomas
Smart, amiable and well-paced, and director Tony Goldwyn brings to it an all-too-rare buoyancy and breeziness.

The various talents on display aren't enough to overcome the sheer blandness of the material.
Read Full Review >LA Weekly Chuck Wilson
In supporting roles, Ellen Barkin and Marisa Tomei are marvelously light-footed.
Read Full Review >USA Today Susan Wloszczyna
A blah romantic comedy that has the bad taste to force the heavenly Ashley Judd into being an insecure, date-desperate, quirky career gal.
Read Full Review >New York Daily News Jami Bernard
Goes down easily only because Judd and Jackman are eye candy, and because Kinnear and Tomei provide solid comic support.
Read Full Review >Miami Herald Sara Wildberger
An oddly flat, quirky romantic comedy.
Chicago Sun-Times Roger Ebert
As a movie, it knows little about men, women or television shows, but has studied movie formulas so carefully that we can see each new twist and turn as it creeps ever so slowly into view.

Soft and predictable -- which might be OK if there were more laughs and insight.
New York Post Jonathan Foreman
Could hardly be more predictable.
Charlotte Observer Lawrence Toppman
Someone Like You is from Hollywood's bottomless box of cliches.

Starts as light, fluffy fun but becomes so blithely preposterous that it ceases to exist.

Jackman and Judd are sweet together, so much so that you wish they were in a fresher movie than this.
Read Full Review >Entertainment Weekly Owen Gleiberman
It was originally called ''Animal Husbandry,'' and while the producers were throwing away that title, they might have done well to chuck the movie along with it.
Read Full Review >TV Guide Frank Lovece
Sexist, plot-hole-riddled movie equates women with cows and men with bulls.

Another dim adaptation of a bright comic novel.
Baltimore Sun Michael Sragow
This chick flick never should have made it out of the incubator.
San Francisco Chronicle Mick LaSalle
It's a romantic comedy with insights into sex and relationships that are old and obvious.
Read Full Review >Seattle Post-Intelligencer William Arnold
So witless, sit-com shallow and bad in every way that it's just not worthy of much discussion.
Read Full Review >Washington Post Desson Thomson
Heaven forbid a Hollywood romantic movie have any narrative surprises.
Read Full Review >Portland Oregonian Kim Morgan
Surprisingly bland even within its dubious genre of "chick flick."
Washington Post Rita Kempley
A gooey romantic comedy that sticks to everything except its principles.
Read Full Review >The New York Times Dana Stevens
Chandler's script has, by my count, exactly one sort-of-funny line and not a single scene whose comic possibilities are successfully exploited.
Read Full Review >Austin Chronicle Kimberley Jones
It's cheap and it's lowdown, and to those responsible for this exercise in devolution: Honestly, I'm not sure I want to know someone like you.

James B> gave it a 10:
I loved this movie, it was a funny and romantic comedy with a great story and had solid support from great actors and actresses.
Jamie F. gave it a 9:
I loved it. It is light, easy watching. It just made me feel good.
Kathy Y. gave it a 9:
What made the movie so great? Cows + Hugh Jackman = WOW. Haha, not exactly what the movie is all about, but that's what drew me to the movie at first. Ashley Judd was adorable, and Greg Kinnear did a great job at playing his part. But the best part...seeing Hugh Jackman half naked. *laughs*
Gina Q. gave it a 10:
This movie captured exactly what I feel on men. Ashley Judd was amazing, she played the part perfectly as did Hugh Jackman. The predictability didn't take away from the show at all-- everything in Hollywood is predictable--face it. All around good show!
Nick S. gave it an 8:
This was a fun, charming film that finally shows what Ashley Judd can do as a lead in a romantic comedy. She absolutely shines in this film. And Jackman was surprisingly good in a small role. Goldwyn has definitely improved in his directing skills.
Shannon D. gave it an 8:
Great chick flick. Worth the money. Best I've seen Ashley perform yet :)
Damian P. gave it a 9:
The characters were the most original I've seen in ANY romantic comedy. I'd watch it again.
