Entertainment Weekly Bruce Fretts

The only possible reason to see this otherwise average afternoon waster is Sagemiller.

TV Guide Maitland McDonagh

Despite the handsome production values and best efforts of the attractive young cast, it's hard to get deeply involved with the frantic "what's going on?" sturm und drang.

Chicago Tribune John Petrakis

One of those frustrating movies that takes forever to get where it's going, and once arriving, the frustration is increased because one realizes how much better it should have been.

30

LA Weekly Chuck Wilson

A horror movie that's not horrific enough, Soul Survivors plays like a "Twilight Zone" by way of "Touched by an Angel."

New York Daily News Jack Mathews

It's nonsense. Even when its big secret is revealed in the final moments, it adds up to nothing more than a dizzy, dark, hysterical waste of time.

Los Angeles Times Kevin Thomas

The actors are game, but their roles lack color and depth, and it's a real struggle to survive Soul Survivors to the finish.

New Times (L.A.) Luke Y. Thompson

The film was cut down from an R rating to get a PG-13, but even if it had full-on Eliza Dushku nudity -- and it doesn't have anything close -- Soul Survivors would still suck.

The New York Times Lawrence Van Gelder

There is an explanation for everything, but it is a long time coming and not worth the wait.

Mr. Showbiz Michael Atkinson

It is merely another inept teen movie ripping off better horror movies.

10

Variety Robert Koehler

A horror movie without horror, a spook pic without spookiness and a metaphysical drama without the slightest spiritual tug, Soul Survivors virtually dwindles away on the screen.

San Francisco Chronicle Carla Meyer

A truly awful mix of bad direction, nonsensical story line and dialogue that appears to have been made up on the spot.

The only reason i gave it a 3, was because i don't get it at all and possibly there was somthing good in this movie that i did not catch.

Whitney gave it a 10:

Brittany gave it a 9:
I think it is a great movie...

Shelly K. gave it a 10:
Best film i've ever seen, if u guys actually gave it a chance ud see everytime you watch it you see something new, a lot of thought was given to the plot and the acting was brilliant, the music was awesome and the sets mindblowing, sure to be a classic cult movie. If only all horror films were this original and well directed.

Charlie G. gave it a 2:
I agree with Tim. confusing.

Claire gave it a 7:
Worth a watch, but i found it to be a bit of an anti climax. I loved the sets, Eliza Dushku's character and the music. I think the plot, though confusing, had a lot to it, and really left me with serious thoughts. I think it could have done with a few alterations but definitely has potential. The scenes held in the gothic style church/club held my attention and left me with a strong urge to get up and dance. I found it worth a watch for the music alone. The editing near the end as all the peices in the movie began to fall in place was magickal.......so to sum up; good acting, definite potential, great soundtrack...any Eliza Dushku or Buffy fans will love it:)
