The Globe and Mail (Toronto) Leah McLaren
Tasty and sweet, if a little on the mild side.

First-time feature director Rashid has made a piece of eye candy that's irresistible. The point of this film may be to embrace reality, but frankly, who needs it?
Read Full Review >Seattle Post-Intelligencer Winda Benedetti
A film that turns a comedic eye on the cultural, sexual and generational gaps that divide families and lovers and just generally make life the tricky mess it so often is.
Read Full Review >Dallas Observer Gregory Weinkauf
Whatever your orientation, these bosom buddies are bound to charm you, and perhaps by joining them, the very talented MacLachlan may continue to find work.
Read Full Review >The Hollywood Reporter Kirk Honeycutt
What makes the film so much fun is an ingenious plot device embedded in Rashid's sharply observed screenplay.
Read Full Review >Chicago Reader J.R. Jones
It's formulaic but still fun, thanks to the quick and genial players.
Read Full Review >Austin Chronicle Steve Davis
To MacLachlan's credit, his impersonation of the indomitable is serviceable, although it must be said that the role is weirder than anything David Lynch ever dreamed up for him.
Read Full Review >Entertainment Weekly Lisa Schwarzbaum
Rashid's optimistic fairy tale is inventive, in a show-queen way.
Read Full Review >Film Threat Staff (Not credited)
Rashid's love of cinema is obvious in every frame. He interweaves nostalgia with modern subject matter. Pace and comic timing are perfect.
Read Full Review >Boston Globe Wesley Morris
An hour and a half of cultural and sexual headaches only barely leavened by MacLachlan's performance.
Read Full Review >The Onion (A.V. Club) Nathan Rabin
A tepid variation on the rash of cartoonishly drawn Indian-Anglo culture-clash comedies afflicting both sides of the Atlantic.
Read Full Review >The New York Times Stephen Holden
Except for the piquant garnish of Mr. MacLachlan, the movie, written and directed by Ian Iqbal Rashid, is barely a cut above an amateur production. The attempts at humor fizzle, and the performances are wooden and overstated.
Read Full Review >TV Guide Ken Fox
You may give up on Ian Iqbal Rashid's feature debut long before things get interesting, courtesy of a distracting conceit that shatters whatever spell the hackneyed premise might cast.
Read Full Review >LA Weekly Scott Foundas
Touch of Pink is really a big glob of "The Wedding Banquet," with some "Will & Grace" mixed in to remind us that gay people are actually quaintly neurotic and funny once you get to know them.
Read Full Review >Village Voice Jorge Morales
Presumably writer-director Ian Iqbal Rashid chose Grant because Bogie's been done, but that didn't stop him from lifting Touch of Pink's plot wholesale from "The Wedding Banquet."
Read Full Review >Washington Post Jen Chaney
Unfortunately, MacLachlan's strong jaw line and his valiant attempt to act so very Cary aren't enough to save this film from stumbling over the many cliches in its part-screwball, part-melodrama plotline.
Read Full Review >New York Daily News Jami Bernard
The story is tired, the comedy forced and the mother's larger-than-life quirks are an acquired taste.
Read Full Review >Christian Science Monitor David Sterritt
Even MacLachlan's surprisingly witty performance can't compensate for the trite screenplay and Mistry's lack of charisma.
Read Full Review >Miami Herald Peter Debruge
Alas, as much as it aspires to mimic the charm of old Cary Grant pictures, Touch of Pink is hardly worthy of comparison to even the least of Grant's films.
Read Full Review >Washington Post Stephen Hunter
It goes so far -- way too far -- as having a known actor play Grant.

Ikky L. gave it a10:
I really enjoyed, loved this movie! It let us know the feeling from deep inside of every human being, the need to love and be free inside ourselves.
[Anonymous] gave it an 8:
I really liked this movie... It might not be the most original thing out, but there were some really clever lines in there. Like what Alim's mom says to Giles when he thinks the eggs are for everyone. Yeah, it might have been a little corny, but I thought the acting was great (with the exception of Alim's Aunt) and the dialogue was way better than most popular films.
Laurie J. gave it a 9:
Sweet, smart and sassy.
Neda gave it a 9:
Simply beautiful! and a very different point of view. i have never seen a movie similar to "touch of pink", because this was the first motion picture that has not based the comdey of it on 'alim' and 'giles' (the homosexual part of the movie), and i see it in no way similar to "will and grace". "touch of pink" is one of those pictures that i can see over and over again and enjoy every bit of it.
J Johnstone gave it a 10:
A beautiful film - requires the audience to be engaged, and this results in an emotional rollercoaster of laughter, and heartwarming tenderness. A MUST-SEE!
Ronald W. gave it a 6:
It is an enjoyable movie with some flaws. It is interesting that many critics have said that the characters are wooden, and stereotypical. I find that the characters are more formal and have a tendency to leave things unsaid. I felt that it the characters were consistent with Pakistani people that I know.
