Chicago Sun-Times Roger Ebert
A love story so sweet, sincere and positive that it sneaks past the defenses built up in this age of irony.
Read Full Review >Philadelphia Inquirer Carrie Rickey
It's wholesome as a glass of milk, and as refreshing.
San Francisco Chronicle Octavio Roca
A movie for teenagers, and, as these things go, very entertaining.

What saves the film is the chemistry between the two leads.

West delivers the emotional goods when tragedy strikes in the final reel. If 17-year-old pop star Moore isn't a skilled actress, she's at least unassuming.

This realist fairy tale of impossible love has a fair amount of nuance and charm.
Read Full Review >Los Angeles Times Kevin Thomas
A sensitively told story of first love that could have been more affecting with a little more grit and without so mawkish a score.
Read Full Review >Miami Herald Connie Ogle
The film is well-scrubbed of anything resembling sexuality, more a nonthreatening fairy tale than the romantic drama it aims to be. Its appeal flies straight to the hearts of 13-year-old girls.
New York Post Lou Lumenick
About as edgy as a cup of Ovaltine, A Walk to Remember is an old-fashioned teen romance so sweet and free of irony that criticizing it feels like taking a baseball bat to a sack full of newborn kittens.
Read Full Review >Variety Joe Leydon
A glossy teen-weepie romance that often plays like an inspirational indie skewed toward Christian niche market.

Parents wishing to protect their beloved daughters from cliché overload might do well to withhold the old allowance money for a couple of weeks -- until the inevitable bout of Mandymoviemania subsides.

For grownups, this treacle is going to be pretty hard to swallow.
Boston Globe Jonathan Perry
A movie where the miracles -- and treacly moments -- keep topping each other.
Read Full Review >The Globe and Mail (Toronto) Kevin Courrier
Since the movie has so little conviction, or personality of its own, it's a walk you can easily forget.

Basically a prim, desexualized "Carrie," told from the prom date's perspective and featuring Peter Coyote in the Piper Laurie role.
Read Full Review >Washington Post Michael O'Sullivan
Audiences who have avoided the multiplex these last few years because of the garbage peddled there are the only ones for whom this overly familiar "Walk" will be memorable.
Read Full Review >Salon.com Stephanie Zacharek
A vehicle for teen singing sensation Mandy Moore. As vehicles go, it's an Edsel.
Read Full Review >The New York Times Dana Stevens
Proves that a movie about goodness is not the same thing as a good movie.
Read Full Review >Charlotte Observer Lawrence Toppman
Self-respecting filmgoers will find this a "Walk" to dismember.
Read Full Review >New York Daily News Jami Bernard
The audience for this chaste teen romance won't be film lovers, as the movie is sappy and listlessly paced. But it's just the ticket for people who want their movies sanitized.
Read Full Review >Chicago Tribune Robert K. Elder
Good performances in bad movies are nothing new, but it's sad that Moore's first major cinematic outing scrapes the bottom of the melodramatic barrel.
Entertainment Weekly Lisa Schwarzbaum
Just because A Walk to Remember is shrewd enough to activate girlish tear ducts doesn't mean it's good enough for our girls. They're willing to buy tickets; why not honor their wits as well as their wallets?
Read Full Review >Austin Chronicle Kimberley Jones
Takes the giant leap from your run-of-the-mill mediocrity into an alternative universe of awfulness.
Read Full Review >Film Threat Michael Dequina
A monstrosity of a movie that I am all too eager to forget.

Celestine S. gave it a10:
One of my favorite movies of all time, the story, the message the themes, it was just so beautiful and touching. Shane's and Mandy's acting was perfectly done! Their characters were perfectly portrayed, the emotion, their personalities, the love, the sincerity, the sadness...This movie is their best performance of their careers.
Ben D gave it a10:
Superb colours, score and storyline.
Pilar R. gave it a9:
I was surprise when I saw the critical reception of this movie. I watched it this morning and it's definitely a walk I will remember. The way they fall in love reminded me quite a bit of 'Naley' from one tree hill and yet it had this whole sentimental feeling to it. It's not the kind of film where the most important thing is to make some good shots with the camera, and I think that's what makes it so memorable. It's completely worth watching and, even though it's a bit too sentimental for me, I suggest everyone who has a chance to not listen to the Cinemato...what ever their called reviewers and watch it - but remember to have a tissue in your hand.
chrissa c gave it a10:
I absolutely love this movie. A lot of people dislike it but i really do like it. It has its funny times and it also has the time to where you should really feel like you are there with the actors. This movie is great.
Adam C gave it a9:
Great drama movie. It has the laughs, tears, and soft moments a drama movie should have. Good for a date movie or to just pop in and rewatch! One of Mandy's best works.
Clay gave it a3:
Boring, and totally unoriginal. A girl who gets teased a lot, and then some popular guy spends time to fulfill her top 3 to-do list? What? If you're going to go fantasy/fairytale, make it a cartoon. It isn't horrible, but it falls short and it's dull.
Pierre-Luc T gave it a6:
This movie's good, but hardly spectacular. As many say, the performances are good, and I agree that both Shane West and Mandy Moore play their roles well. However, the plot in itself is just terribly uncreative and foreseeable. This was hardly the amazing film I was told from my friend, although she sure seemed touched by it last night, and the dozens of other times shes seen it. I honestly just don't get it.
