  • Summary: Centipede: Infestation is a post-apocalyptic action experience that features run-n-gun shooting style gameplay with tower defense-style objects, paying homage to the original Centipede while bringing the brand into the 21st century. Players assume the role of an orphaned teenager hero named Max as he trudges through the wasteland, fighting off giant bugs. During Max’s travels he encounters a young teen named Maisy who possesses a collection of seeds that hold the secret to bringing plant life back to the wasteland. Max and Maisy join forces to grow these gardens and protect the last natural resources on earth. Collapse

While Centipede ably fulfills its remit, it doesn't really try to go beyond it. [Jan 2012, p.114]

It's still a lot of fun, however, and works well for on-the-go bug-squashing sessions, especially if you've got a friend by your side.

Sadly, Centipede Infestation has "first generation 3DS title" written all over it, from the lackluster guns to the average graphics. You may enjoy it in bursts, but don't pay full price.

I bought this game for $5 expecting it to be a failed attempt to relaunch the Centipede game, but actually surprised me. It was actually a pretty fun game. The game jumped from a series of very easy levels, to boss battles in between that were surprisingly tough. The cut scenes and story are pretty corny, but that doesn't take away from how entertaining this game actually is. I would recommend this game, but not if you're going to spend over $10 on it. Expand
