The narrative is on the light-side, but that makes it perfect for short bursts at a time. By the time I came to the end of Miitopia, I found it slightly emotional to say goodbye to my companions of more than a decade, but it was truly worth the ride.

Miitopia may seem like a simple, artificial RPG simulation with Mii, but the humorous narrative tone underlined by such absurdly customizable protagonists suggest to take some distance from the deceptive classicism of this quest, that reveals an ironic look at the genre. The focus on the relationships between these avatars, their freedom in combat along with the randomness of the gameplay elements add life to the whole experience, creating a special position for the player, neither actor nor spectator, yet deeply involved. Whether it's considered as an introduction to RPGs or a satire, Miitopia doesn't lack character, and wonderfully embodies the role.

There’s a lot to love about Miitopia, even though I was fatigued during the last several hours. I enjoy games like The Sims, where you can create characters and watch their personalities interact in unexpected ways. That element is abundant here, along with the mechanics of a respectably deep RPG – regardless of whether you enlist Pringles Guy.

Miitopia is a funny RPG with interesting social elements, but it's too much simple and repetitive in its action.

Miitopia is a mixed bag. Mii interactions off and on the battlefield are fun, but the pacing and linear scope of the game hampers an otherwise fun experience. The game doesn’t last too long for JRPG standards (around 30-35 hours) but this feels like a fun 15 hour game stretched out with long periods of boring grind. You eventually do get everyone back, making the last part of the game a better experience towards the end. But while Miitopia makes up for a lot of things with its charming appeal, its faults are still pretty evident.

Not much more than an expanded StreetPass game, and while the Mii integration is cute the shallow gameplay is just frustrating and dull.

Its 67 score is wrong, at least to me. It's one of my favorite games. Like Nintendo would do, this RPG mixes up the menu! You don't control all 4 characters in your party, only yourself. Plus, you can pick a job. A job is like how you attack enemies. There are a dozen jobs! You can put in people in Miitopia as Miis. The story follows you as you adventure to stop the Dark Lord (no, not Voldemort) from terrorizing Miitopia by stealing everyone's faces. You get to choose who the Dark Lord is, as well as literately everybody. You can build relationships with everyone in your party, feed them play minigames, and feed your party at the many, and I mean many inns. You also have MP that drains as you use stronger moves than just your regular attack. If you like RPGs, play this game. If you're not a big fan of RPGs (like me) you should try this game out! There is a free demo for the game on the Nintendo 3DS eShop if you want to try this fantastic title. Expand

Miitopia was not a game I expected to enjoy as much as I did, let alone get it. But the idea to try it came out of nowhere and after tryingMiitopia was not a game I expected to enjoy as much as I did, let alone get it. But the idea to try it came out of nowhere and after trying the demo, I bought the game on impulse. And like I said, I really enjoyed it, for what it was. Miitopia is an role playing styled game starring Nintendo's own avatar, the Miis. You create your own team of Miis based on those you made or others have made and set out on a journey to rescue the stolen faces of others. The game itself already has a strange concept, but the game itself is oddly addicting. The game has you explore a huge world map, playing through automatic scrolling levels that hold enemy battles, treasure and other events. Each path has set events that will happen. When you enter a battle, your team of four engages the enemy in a typical rpg styled battle. Thing is, you only have control over the Mii you created first to start the game. All your friends are computer controlled. While this does make keeping track of who you play as much simpler, it's a bit boring to only be able to essentially play as one character in the game. On the topic of the Miis, I find that this game handled them very well compared to other games. Each Mii you create for your team can have a job, which dictates what skills, weapons and cloths they can use. On top of that, they can have one of seven personalities, which adds a few more abilities to their list. Their interactions with each other are another interesting concept. Your teammates can build relations with each other to unlock more skills they can use with each other, such as aiding in attacks, taking hits for each other to avenging fallen teammates. And their interactions with each other in odd events here and there are more entertaining than you'd expect. I cracked more than enough smiles while watching them, which is something I didn't expect to do as much as I did. In the end, Miitopia is a surprisingly good game that I could easily compare to the Miis themselves; it's goofy, strange and hard to take seriously, but that's what makes it such a charming experience. While the rpg elements weren't played out in a fully fleshed out way, they weren't terrible for the most part. The story was strange, yet interesting and the way the Miis went about their adventure was charming and entertaining. If Nintendo were to put more effort into the rpg elements, such as full on, player controlled exploring and full control over the whole party, I'd actually be excited to see a sequel. In the meantime, Miitopia is another charming 3DS title that just shows Nintendo's light hearted and goofy side to them. Expand

That is whatThis is such a simple game... but such an amazing game as well! Sure, it's not the most complex one, but it excels at being fun! That is what Miitopia is, fun and funny, and the former is the most important thing in a videogame, isn't it? Sure, it's quite easy, but I love how fast-paced it is, time flies when playing it! And although it's simple, it has a lot of little details in terms of conversations, equipment and funny situations. It's also a great game for younger players to get introduced in RPGs. One of the biggest surprises of the year for me, a game I didn't expect anything of but turned out to be really good. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I love the story, but I hate the animation. It has a lot of animation errors. The developers don't know how to rig Miis. Mii animations have the worst animations ever. Plus, the dialogue doesn't make any sense (e.g. Mii have trouble with socks though they're not wearing any socks, Mii forgeting to tie their shoelaces though they don't wear any shoelaces). It is very creepy when the Dark Lord steals their face. And this game is rated E for everyone. The game came out in 2016-2017, but why is the animation old and terrible. They wanted to make the game now. They should delete that game, and make a better version of it. It would be called Humantopia. There will be no animation errors. The dialogues will make sense. And the Dark Lord will steal souls. Expand
