It may not be the most revolutionary side-scrolling platform adventure, but it packs in enough variety, challenge and sheer fun to make it appeal to fans of the genre looking for something more traditional on the Nintendo 3DS.

Overall, Rabbids Travel in Time 3D manages to accomplish what it sets out to do. That is to provide mindless entertainment for 3D gaming on the go. It is a simple game, fun and perfect for younger gamers, as it is easy to pick up, the controls are very basic, and progressing along the games many levels is accomplished with ease. More mature 3DS owners will likely want to pass this one up, but younger 3DS will want to give this one a go.

Rabbids 3D starts with great promises, only to withdraw them later in the game, when the player realizes that design and difficulty never evolve so much from semi-tutorial levels. It is still a solid, lenghty and enjoyable game, maybe aimed more at children, but we think that this team can do much much better things.

If there's a problem with Rabbids 3D it's that it's a little too forgiving, despite the game's best efforts to be otherwise in its latter half. Still, given the as-of-yet anemic selection of 3DS releases available, Rabbids 3D is one of the better options.

Rabbids Travel in Time 3D plays it simple and safe, relying on its charming presentation to carry the bulk of the weight. [May 2011, p.89]

Rabbids 3D won't satisfy those veteran players looking for a classic platform game, as it doesn't bring anything especially new, but it will please younger players looking for an approachable title with long durability.

Bland humor and breezy action make Rabbids Travel in Time 3D a lighthearted yet lackluster platformer.

This title could have been one of those highly recommendable adventures, but since it lacks notable features, paying the $40 entry fee might be a little too much. Your best bet may be to wait until gets a nice red sticker on the front before adding it to the game collection.

A solid, enjoyable 2D platformer particularly suited to less experienced gamers.

Rabbids 3D is an enjoyable 2D platformer, but like much of the 3DS' launch line-up it doesn't offer anything wholly original or outstanding. As the only 2D platforming title available for the handheld Ubisoft might find Rabbids 3D achieves strong sales, but surely Nintendo will deliver something considerably better in the future.
  12. A fun platformer, but the repetitive levels and clumsy progress tracking let it down.

Not the varied Rabbids game we wanted. [June 2011, p.88]

Rabbids 3D seems to be done for younger players who have no or just little experience with jump'n'runs.

The game is a little bit too easy, and the level design certainly isn't very inspired. However, there are some collection quests and challenge modes if you want to go for 100% completion with this one.

Collecting puzzle pieces and 3D figures should be a nice distraction, but they're certainly not enough incentive to replay these tedious levels. Rabbids Travel in Time 3D offers no real sense of what you're doing, who you're fighting, or why you should care. This wouldn't matter if the platforming was interesting, but its low difficulty and lack of variety make this an entirely forgettable experience.

Rabbids 3D controls well and manages not to frustrate its player, but the flaccid level design and cliché environments turn these upsides into pure boredom. It's a platform-game that'll be forgotten as soon as Mario, Sonic or Kirby make a sound.

Rabbids has no glaring mistakes or failures, but it also ends up happening only because it's a simple game in concept.

Rabbids 3D is probably the most average platformer we've ever played, and the 3D effect is entirely superfluous.

Rabbids 3D provides bog-standard platforming action that never really gets exciting.

Raving Rabbids 3D is fun at first, but it fails to entertain in the long run.

With subpar platforming and boring level design, Rabbids is only fit for easily distracted youngsters or adults looking to throw away $40.

Rabbids 3D is a regular 2D platformer in all its classicism. It's so regular and average that it's quickly boring. Monotonous and poorly paced, it's far from being a total wreckage, sure, but it's really nothing to be remembered.

It's like someone reduced Super Mario Bros to its essence, then skimmed the fun off the top. [May 2011, p.51]
  25. 35
Unless you're starved for a 3DS platformer, you should avoid Rabbids Travel in Time 3D at all costs. It's a disappointing and dreary side-scroller. Don't let launch window goggles fool you into thinking this is a good game. It's not.
  26. 30
Appallingly uninteresting platformer whose bland visuals are almost as dull as its uninspired level designs.

The best reason for the twenty six points lost is the limited amount of levels. Luckily, it is better than most other rabbids games. The other factor is the total number stages, lower than the average game. It may not contain minigames, but it is still well done Overall, 7.4/10 Full Review »
  2. I thought this game was really good because you got to go on adventures and do lots of cool things with rabbid and it was also in 3d so it was really good Full Review »
  3. Rabbids Travel in Time: ------------------------------- Pros: 1) It's a great side-scroller. 2) Makes good use of the 3D effect. 3) The eras have themed music and backgrounds.
    4) You can unlock a series of dioramas and pictures.

    Cons:
    1) There are only four time eras.
    2) Each level is very repetitive.
    3) The game is too easy. I beat it within a week.

In conclusion, this is a great game for children, but for us older folks, it seems to go way too fast. I truly regret making this my first 3DS game.
