The lack of any online functionality hurts the bottom line, but the series has never been renowned for its multiplayer components. This is the perfect chance to get acquainted with StarFox if you've missed out after all these years, but this classic game from the 90's is merely a good game today.

Star Fox 64 3D is best seen as a simple but tasty snack in between meals for those of us waiting for proper new adventures from Nintendo. It's not for everyone, but does offer easily digested science fiction entertainment with plenty of action for many.

It is easily one of the best games currently available for Nintendo 3DS, a genre "old school", which may seem strange to some players, but keeping intact the characteristics that made it famous in the past as the best title in the Star Fox series.

Very short flying game that still shines when it comes to control and entertainment value.

Starfox 64 3DS is a space shooter that is both complex and accessible. The series' arrival on Nintendo's latest handheld is great news but the new visual elements and the double gameplay prove to be little more than small details in a remake that is short of big surprises.

Outside of a perfunctory multiplayer mode that's cute so long as you have friends nearby with a 3DS (there's no online play) , Star Fox 64 3D is a fine diversion, but at its full price of $39.99, it isn't a must buy.

A lack of new levels and the omission of online play definitely damages the title, but the wonderful level design, intuitive controls and addictive gameplay makes it easy to overlook such glaring faults.

If you're looking for the history lesson, you're better off grabbing it for $10 on the Virtual Console.

What you actually play is so fun and wonderful and at times fairly challenging. It's just a con putting this game out though at a full £40 initial price because there is nowhere near enough content despite being utterly brilliant all the way through. And I'm sorry but online 16 player dogfights woould hae been immense!!!! Full Review »

The graphics are totally new and look sharp and provide some good looking effects. The analog controls are smooth and the gyro is fun (albeit not something I use often). And, most importantly, it is just plain enjoyable. It provides a good, solid challenge and huge amounts of replay value, and although it unfortunately lacks online play, the local play is fair fun if you have some friends with a 3ds (not to mention it's download play!). I highly recommend this game to any 3ds owner. Full Review »
