Yatagarasu: Attack on Cataclysm is aimed at the very niche audience who genuinely champion gameplay over graphical achievements, and who aren't afraid of putting in some hard work to get the most out of it. Given its Indiegogo campaign, this game had the potential to become one of the worst cases of buyer's remorse that I've ever had, but it turned out beautifully in the end. Weird PC port quibbles notwithstanding, of course.
Yatagarasu: Attack on Cataclysm is a technical beat'em up, designed for the professionals.
From first blood to knockout this is an exceptional fighting game. I just wish the rest of it was held to that same standard.

Yatagarasu: Attack on Cataclysm is a great old school fighting game, with an awesome fighting system and superb animations and character design. The lack of polish, and an old fashioned online mode, could be a big issue for modern players.
Overall, Yatagarasu: Attack on Cataclysm is a solid fighting game with some nice mechanics but it really has its work cut out to overthrow the current crop of fighters.
Unfortunately, it’s not a very complete package largely alienates anyone who isn’t already familiar with fighters, making it a tough sell for people looking for a casual experience.
