A better game than Dave Mirra.
  2. Nothing new if you’ve played the PSOne version, but a blast if you haven’t. Another problem -- it’s over way too soon.
  3. Because Mat Hoffman is based on the first Tony Hawk game, there are a lot of tweaks and additions that I believe will give "THPS2" fans a sense that something is missing.
  4. I love Hoffman’s superb soundtrack, and if you dig hip-hop, you will too. [Nov 2001, p.216]
  5. Through no fault of the developers, some of the physics of riding a bike (as opposed to a skateboard) make this game less fun than playing the Tony Hawk series. Think about it, a skateboard can go both ways, a bike cannot.
  6. For the majority of gamers, it's too little too late. [Dec 2001, p.113]
  7. What set out to be "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater" with bikes has turned into a pretty dull aping of the Pro Skater experience with numerous graphic and gameplay issues.
