Critic score distribution:
  1. Positive: 7 out of 13
  2. Negative: 1 out of 13
  1. Improved graphics and new modes and characters are combined with solid gameplay that's been tweaked for the better to make for a dependable and entertaining sequel.
  2. Plenty of flash, spectacle and new features... but so little meat to carve a proper meal from.
  3. More of the same delicious cake but with new frosting.
  4. There's a few new boxers, and an enhanced move set. Past that, you'll find it's the same old game, in a new box.
  5. An arcade game, plain and simple. Unfortunately, that just doesn't cut it with today's console systems.
  6. Great graphics and animation alone can't save this punch-drunk sequel.
  7. A sequel that delivers more, but not quite enough.
  8. For those of us who were big fans of the original game, the gameplay and presentation of R2RB: R2 are all too familiar, making the sequel seem like little more than a simple roster update.
  9. Owners of the original, however, have little reason to upgrade -- unless the idea of beating a virtual Michael Jackson to a bloody pulp is just too juicy for you to pass up.
  10. 77
Round 2 improves every stylish aspect... but it's still made of the same stuff.
  11. 76
Nothing but a child's vinegar and baking soda volcano.
  12. 7
Its shallow nature may also put people off, but it's a laugh for everyone in multiplayer.
  13. All in all a nice little title which will keep most gamers amused.
