Even with its flaws in gameplay mechanics and visual presentation, Capcom's port of Resident Evil 2 is a thing of beauty, preserving the euphoric atmosphere of a game that no other gaming company has been able to duplicate to date.
Resident Evil 2 forces you into a state of emotional connection - I mean for God's sake, your characters limp and hold their ribs when they're hurt! Prick me, and do I not bleed? Kill me, do I not die?
"Evil Dead: Hail to the King" and "The Ring: Terror's Realm" weren't anywhere near as fun and interesting as going through the predictable motions of a survival horror game that was designed FROM ITS INCEPTION to be replayable.
