  1. All Sports Jam delivers are loose interpretations of one or two facets of all your favorite sports in one smallish game that grows tiresome after only a couple hours.
  2. With a few friends and some beers it's a good-enough time not to notice how lacking in replayability and long-term enjoyment the thing is.
  3. Electronic Gaming Monthly
While the graphics may show a hoops or pigskin player, you’re actually just playing a dressed-up Pong or a simple button smasher. [Aug 2001, p.111]

With many degrees of selectable difficulty, a wide variety of events, and the ability to customize your own tournament, Sports Jam offers lots of replay value and fun.
  5. An enjoyable two-player mode saves this title from being absolute rubbish.
  6. The best comparison that I can make is that it's a lot like that arcade game you play at the movie theater. It's not a high quality title, yet you seem to pump quarters into it every time you're there.

A guilty pleasure that has a lifespan of about a week, with the occasional weekend boot-up with pals come visiting.
