I hate to be brutal about it, and many younger gamers may even like this game, but I had expected a more polished product, and what I got seemed raw or half-baked.
  2. CNET Gamecenter
Marred by a dodgy interface, "Toy Story 2" nonetheless knows how to flex its might like a championship weightlifter.
  3. Dreamcast HQ
It's fine if you're buying it for your kids to play (which really is the purpose of "Toy Story 2"), but Activision could have done a lot to make this better for us older folk.
A fantastic game (with) regrettably frustrating, enjoyment killing problems.
  5. Repetitive voice samples from the film, control flaws, and poor floating-camera angles make many levels frustrating.
  6. The variety of ways to progress in the game should keep them glued to the set. But be warned: there's very little here for us older gamers.

In the long run however, the troublesome camera angles and problematic control will make you want to hide this one at the bottom of the toy chest.
  8. Overall, Activision has done a decent, if uninspired, job of porting the game to yet another platform.
  9. Da Gameboyz
The idea of this game is sound, with some good puzzles and fun sequences to play through, but this all falls apart when you are fighting the controls and the camera to play properly.
  10. Little kids might be willing to look past the unoriginality and outdated gameplay.
  11. Leave it on the shelf. Activision missed the mark with this one.
  12. Daily Radar
What was cute and fun, if a little simplistic, on the PlayStation is unimpressive and difficult on Dreamcast.
  13. The control in "Toy Story 2" lies somewhere between barely-acceptable and woefully-inadequate.
  14. Game Fan
In a game so reliant on running in straight lines and jumping from one ledge to another, maddeningly loose control is unforgivable.
  15. The camera doesn't seem to know where to point - sometimes it faces the front of the character for no reason and turning makes the camera spin nauseously.
  16. 30
Control in this game (using the term game loosely since it suggests fun) is akin to peeling "hair" off of a wet bar of soap - it's slippery work, and almost as difficult to do as it is to figure out why you're doing it in the first place.

This is another one of those games which probably no one cares about or will ever care unless they're a dye-hard fans of DisneyPixarToy Story franchise (The latter is true for me).
And I guess there's not much reason to care about this one, it's definitely not a masterpiece and the movie which it's based on is far more popular, plus it's aimed mainly at children.

And that's simply what it is.
If there are still some children out there which get to watch Toy Story this game could be nice for them.

It's not 100% polished, but it's a light action-platformer, it's a lot easier and forgiving (Thank god!) than the previous installment, it has nice lively soundtrack which fit the game, nice levels... It's simply alright. And old.

"This game is just way to cool, you can destroy tin robots, kites, airplanes, and even garbage zombies."
