Infestation is the single best follow-up to James Cameron's Aliens since Mark Verheiden's black-and-white Dark Horse comics (the original edition that starred an adult Newt and an embittered Hicks, mind you) more than 20 years ago. More than that, it's an excellent game.
Aliens : Infestation is Classic like 2D scroll platformer, the attention to the details is madness, and if you'r a fan of the Alien franchise it is definitely a must play !
Aliens: Infestation is a pretty cool 2D open world action game. The graphics and sound effects are up-to-date and the atmosphere is absolutly Aliens-like. There are some issues with the controls and combat system, but all in all, it's one of the best action games on the Nintendo DS this year.
An interesting 2D action title that borrows elements from Contra and Metroid, while adding a couple of nicely implemented twists of its own, but it could have been something remarkable if it weren't for its lacking design and substance.
It's clearly a game with some heart, but it also misses on enough of the tangibles and intangibles alike to stand out among the rest of DS's offerings.
an excellent little game that boasts 16 bit style graphics and creates a great atmosphere true to the first films...
a must own for any metroidvania fan...
Another masterpiece by Wayforward and Designer Adam Tierney. As always, the video clarity is incredible and the attention to detail is among the best in the industry. The script is also very strong.

Aliens infestation has the potential to be a good game and I keep telling myself to play it.
However, I just think what holds it back for me, is how clunky it can feel at times.
I think the controls alongside the enemy movement leads to some of the worst combat interactions I've had. Enemies spawn instantly after they leave your screen and return, it doesn't matter how many times you kill them. I feel like the character moves to slowly and clunkily to get away in a meaningful time and avoid enemy shots.
Perhaps this is an issue with my skill when playing the game, but I didn't find it difficult in any positive or meaningful way. Moreso, that issues with the game were impeding with how well I was able to play.
Aside from the gameplay issues I had. I think the game does a nice job at feeling atmospheric and has a good concept of a squad-based 2D shootemup. You essentially have 4 characters to play as within a mission alongside various weapon and ammo choices. You have to navigate throughout the stage and figure out essentially what has happened.
I enjoy the music and sound effects. The graphics re very stylistic and I think it has charm and I may recommend to fans of the franchise. The game just isn't for me though.
I really think this is a good game especially for fans of Alien universe but it just doesn't feel right. Can't tell what's wrong exactly, I think many different little things make me feel so. Respawning enemies after leaving screen or poor shooting part? Can't tell for sure
