Docomodake is a hilarious character, and the game is not only charming, but also very fun. $20 will get you four or five hours of gameplay, and while it’s all extremely simple in design – one main tileset, simple animations, basic presentation – it’s inherently fun, and I was never bored playing through it.
  2. Good entertainment for young and casual players with enough quirky, stylized cuteness for curious gamers who find Japanese mascots endearing.
  3. Despite being a product of corporate synergy that inconspicuously ties into existing brand identities over in Japan, Boing! Docomodake DS is surprisingly refreshing. Never mind the fact these mushrooms have sold their souls to the corporate machine, they're in it for the fun, and that's what they deliver.
  4. For such a funny-looking little game, it's actually difficult to get 100% on every level.
  5. Games Master UK
Tranquil puzzle-platforming that's ideal for filling five minutes. [Christmas 2008, p.84]
  6. One of the most enjoyable titles that I've played for some time.
  7. The puzzles aren’t particularly difficult and there are no bosses to speak of, but Dokomodake has a certain charm and is so enjoyable that gamers will get their money and entertainment out of it.
  8. Every inch of this game just screams adorable and sometimes it's just too much to take…in a good way, of course.
  9. Official Nintendo Magazine UK
    A clever puzzler. [Christmas 2008, p.99]
  10. Nintendo Gamer
Brevity is pretty much the only complaint we can level at the game. [Dec 2008, p.81]
  11. From the cute visuals, upbeat sound, and somewhat addicting gameplay, all that is offered on the DS card is well worth the 20 or so bones you will pay to experience this game.
  12. An addictive title that is let down by a very easy difficulty setting and a bit too short with no replay-ability.
  13. Docomodake is a title well worth having in your collection, because apart from the brain-damaging tunes, you’ll find little wrong with this fun little platformer.
