  1. With both off and online modes, combined with the classic Bomberman gameplay, this is one game that can most certainly referred to as da' bomb.
  2. A brilliant turnaround for Bomberman adventuring and a great mutliplayer game for your DS. [Mar 2007, p.76]
  3. It might not be what Mrs. Hudson wants for him, but Bomberman's still one of the best multiplayer games you can buy, and whether or not you want another version you should at least dig out one of the ones you already own and raise your rollerskates in acknowledgement.

Upon hearing the name Bomberman, one would expect the classic hunt-down-trap-and-destroy type multiplayer game. The introduction and story mode game play are far different from what could be expected; the ability to run around in an isometric universe and the visiting of mini game houses. This game has creative way of combining adventure and puzzles. The Classic Bomberman, on average, uses the D-pad and a couple buttons whereas Bomberman Land Touch! in the story mode uses only the stylus. It truly lives of to its storyline, with its fast paced action, tons of variety and hours of fun. The style of game play will grow on you within the first half hour of playing it. The goal is simple: master each of the attractions presented and to use what you gain to unlock the secrets of the island. In addition, when all of that’s over, you can relive all the action in the attractions mode. This mode allows you to play any of the cleared attractions from the story mode. In this mode however, you even have the ability to challenge yours friends in a local area network. Just to add the icing to the cake, the software company also added the classic mode. Bomberman Battle Pack mode uses the classic style controls and stages. It also includes some fun new stages and modes of play as well. Having a second screen really doubles the fun especially in the Crown Battle. The classic mode happens to be the only mode available for play on Wi-Fi, and will be compatible with future online Bomberman DS titles with the same icon. If you purchase this game I strongly recommend using the LAN play to its maximum capability, while still taking the time to explore the other fabulous modes of play. Above all, this game, like many Bomberman titles, is a great party game. Try to get as many players to join in as possible for the best experience. If you are thinking of purchasing the game consider these points: On the positive side: - The game is easy to play and follow -controls are simple and easy - Provides a sufficient element of challenge - Lots of variety and becomes hard to put down once you're into it - Also includes the classic mode which we all know and love - Classic games can be customized to your liking -Graphics are simple and generally 2-d but are crisp and clear -has good replay value On the negative side: -The story is nothing too special but the game play is fun nonetheless -Sound is average quality, and re-used for some mini-games. -The game interface during the story mode could be simpler (i.e. finding the the load and exit function) - The single-pak multiplayer attraction mode requires guests to download the attraction each time you wish to switch to different mini-game - Online play is limited, lacks a chat function, and the play modes are fixed - The save system makes it far too easy to accidentally save over a previously saved file (although there is a prompt message to confirm the overwrite) -The story mode could be longer Whether you are a fan of the Bomberman series or not, know that this is another must-see game for the Nintendo DS; that’s why I’m giving this game 4 stars of 5. Unlike several other Bomberman games, like the dreadful Bomberman Story for example, this has a pretty good single player, with the dangerously addictive multiplayer as well. While not one of the best DS games, it is a good one and worth picking up, much Bomberman-multiplayer related fun to be had, but the friendless can always play against the CPU, or have a crack at the single player game.
