Two games exist on this cartridge - the original arcade version of Bubble Bobble, and a dual-screen remake for DS.

The former is a perfect slice of videogame history and should be sampled and enjoyed by everybody. The latter should be killed and burned without a funeral.

  1. The DS's wireless abilities means that it's able to offer two-player mode on a handheld, which would be tremendous, if it didn't require two copies of the game to play. A ridiculous rip-off for a game nearly two decades old.

Whether you view the appearance of a game like this on the DS as a crucial step in conserving gaming’s heritage, a convenient nostalgia fix, or a total reversal of everything the machine was supposed to deliver, you’ll most likely greet Bub and Bob with little more than familiar affection. Nonetheless, nostalgic-minded gamers will get a kick out of Bubble Bobble Revolution. [Oct. 2006, p.91]
