  1. Folks who are looking for a new Crash Bandicoot should be satisfied with Crash: Mind over Mutant. On the whole, the game is made for younger players, but it will also entertain more experienced users for a while.
  2. I will have to say that Crash: Mind Over Mutant is a very fun and innovative game that is easy to get into and play.
  3. I understand that Crash: Mind Over Mutant is good on the consoles. Not great, but good. It seems that a little more time and effort could have gone into the DS version, and it makes me sad.
  4. If players are looking for a few fun Crash-based mini-games and a standard platformer with everything one would expect from a platformer, then the title may be something worth picking up. However, if players are looking for an epic platformer with a plethora of surprises and story twists, players may want to keep looking.
  5. A year after Crash of the Titans, Crash Bandicoot is back to the Nintendo DS. Last year's 3D adventure is over; now it's time of a classic 2D platforming game. Sadly, this title supposes a step back from Crash of the Titans, being too easy and too short to be enjoyable for most players.
  6. A poor DS conversion attempt, this version does wrong everything that the console versions finally got right.
  7. Mind Over Mutant gets more wrong than it gets right, leaving anyone who picks up the game with nothing more than the aching feeling of buyer’s remorse.
  8. I'm sorry, this game just really disappoints.
  9. Repetitive, ugly and very, very simple for most of its lifespan; Crash Bandicoot: Mind Over Mutant won't frustrate, but he won't entertain for long either.
  10. Crash: Mind Over Mutant is a competent platformer. While it leaves much to be desired in terms of depth and level design, fans of the titular Bandicoot or starved DS platform lovers may enjoy it. Others should pass this one by.

Crash has had one bumpy ride on the Nintendo DS, and I had high hopes that last year's Crash of the Titans would lead to bigger and better things for the character. But Vivendi/Activision seriously dropped the ball on this one.
  12. A very dull, poorly designed 2D platformer that fails to thrill or challenge. [Jan 2009, p.77]
