Although Deca Sports DS doesn't come close to being a top sports game, it's a decent pick-up. The multiplayer connectivity and inclusion of particular sports (particularly Sepak Takraw) make this worth at least a rental.
Like most minigame compilations, you really need to round up a few friends to get the most fun out of Deca Sports DS. The events have a simplistic skew and several just aren't worth returning to alone, leaving you underwhelmed after a while.
Deca Sports DS gives you a few different ways to experience its 10 sports, including tournaments and quick challenges, but aside from a couple of winning events, it's doubtful you'll keep coming back for more. [Apr 2010, p.87]
Deca Sports DS could have been so much better. Hudson had most of the game locked down, but the controls are awful. The game had to have been play tested, and there is no reason as to why they weren’t fixed.
Deca Sports DS doesn't do enough to set itself apart, and the quality of the individual games is uneven at best. In the end your getting a really mixed bag with some good multiplayer and customization options.
