  • Summary: Inspired by the "superhero movie within the movie" finale of Walt Disney Pictures' film "Chicken Little," Disney"s Chicken Little: Ace in Action features Ace, the superhero alter ego of Chicken Little, and the Hollywood versions of his misfit band of friends: Runt, Abby and Fish-Out-of-Water. The crew of the intergalactic Battle Barn faces off against Foxy Loxy and her evil Amazonian sidekick, Goosey Loosey, who have an evil plan to take over Earth. Battle evil alien robots through multiple levels across the solar system and combat your foes in one of three distinct game play modes: Ace on foot as a soldier, Runt as the driver of an armored tank, or Abby as the pilot of a spaceship. The original Chicken Little and his friends Abby, Runt and Fish we know from the film are featured in cut scenes throughout the game. [Buena Vista Games] Expand

  1. Much like Chicken Little before it, Ace in Action features rather large, surprisingly well-animated boss monsters, and just like Chicken Little before it, these bosses can be a downright bear with which to deal. Thankfully, in a game such as this, one is prepared for such difficulty, instead of it blindsiding you like in the earlier title.
  2. For such a short game, a Little goes a long way as far as we’re concerned.
  3. It may be chock full of farm animals in space but Ace in Action deserves a spot alongside the DS's top shooters. [Jan. 2007, p.84]
  4. Three types of laser-blasting fun: on foot, in a tank, and in a spaceship. The first two are pretty close in controls and level layout. They differ in speed and weapon type, but not much else. The last one – the spaceship – is a slow clone of the top-down, side-scrolling space shooter genre. It’s only fun you have something to blast.
  5. Overreaching game/ Flies past a goal it can't see/ Out of bounds, chicken!
  6. The blasting can get a bit monotonous, especially when you just want to move forward. [Dec. 2006, p.110]
  7. 40
Ace in Action is a mindless shooter that’s too short, too easy, and a poor fit with the source material.
