  • Summary: Divergent Shift is a puzzle platformer. You'll run, jump and flip over obstacles, but you also may have to put on your thinking cap to figure out how to complete some of the levels. There are two primary mechanics in the game: the Reflection Mechanic and Shadow Mechanic. In both, you control two characters - one on each screen - at the same time. If you jump, both characters will jump; if you run, both characters will run. The only way to beat the game is to use the two screens together.… Expand

    Divergent Shift is everything a DSiWare title can be: an original, simple, but deep game that uses the hardware toward a meaningful end.

    I like the overall concept here and the puzzling challenge of keeping track of two characters at once puts a unique spin on what would otherwise be pretty basic platforming, so Divergent Shift gets a thumbs-up.
