Shu Takumi reasserts himself as an articulator of good storylines inserted into an innovative gameplay.

Ghost Trick: Detective Fantasma is a great adventure game with a strong personality, an awsome look and pretty dialogs. The original gameplay is able to keep the interest constantly alive, but the lack of variety and the trial and error mechanics could be a problem for someone.

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is a fantastic combination of absurd Japanese humor and point and click mechanics. It's filled to the brim with charm, good laughs and brilliant puzzles that will keep you locked to the screen for hours on end.

Funny gameplay, interesting story and rich characters. Ghost Trick is a mysterious and grateful videogame.

I wouldn't suggest purchasing a DS for Ghost Trick - it isn't a system seller. While it's definitely worth experiencing, it is more a story than a game and while I've reread plenty of my favourite books more than once, some time needs to pass before I can.

One of the most original games we've seen in a long while. You play as a ghost, tasked with solving your own murder case, and in the process saving witnesses and others from the same potential fate by manipulating the enviroment in the precious few minutes before their would-be killer tries to take their life. The puzzles often border on genius and will challenge your imagination regularly. A well-thought out and well-executed puzzle game.

The character animations are incredibly fluid and impressive, and several of their conversations are good for a chuckle. Unfortunately, these scattered bits of life aren't enough to bring Sissel's adventure back from the dead.

Shu Takumi might have topped Phoenix Wright. The writing is sheer perfection, seemingly simple at first until it starts revealing the tricks up its sleeve. The gameplay is quite clever and adds more elements both without ever running out of ideas before introducing them and building the story tremendously. The last several hours feature so many twists that the story and puzzles mesh, putting emotion into rotating a piston or opening a trashcan so that you aren't merely completing a level but saving the lives of characters you actually care about.

The only possible way for Takumi to improve the experiences he's created is to somehow expand the gameplay elements while keeping the size and sweep of the story intact. Until then, the next iterations of Ace Attorney and Ghost Trick will be warmly welcomed.

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is arguably the best DS game I ever played. Yes, you heard me. This game tops Mario Kart to me. Ghost Trick does an incredible job of storytelling and has amazing characters you will remember long after the experience.
The anime art style is incredible and has almost pitch perfect frame-rate. There are plenty of moments where you will gawk at the beautiful art style.
Gameplay is clever, although having a few miniscule issues. Being a ghost, you have the power to posses objects and manipulate them. You can rewind a person's death four minutes before their final blow and attempt to save them using your powers of the dead. Its an interesting concept and some very clever puzzles were created. The only issue I had with these was that generally the puzzles only had one way to solve them, reducing replay value. Additionally your powers stay basically the same until late in the game. Also, gameplay can require some trial and error, especially during the rewinding death sequences. Don't let this write you off because the gameplay can be extremely clever at times.
However what makes this game so great in my opinion is the well written story and characters. The story centers you around a man named Sissel who dies during the night and attempts to unravel the truth behind his death and how he gained his mystical powers. I cant give much more on the story because the game is full of plot twists, and trust me, each time it happens, you will not be expecting it. On top of that, the games ends so well with explaining all of the events, you will be both satisfied and surprised by the conclusion. The characters are also amazing. There is never one dull character in the story. Each has a humorous side such as a head detective who enjoys dancing and a dog named missile who will do anything for his mistress, the game has great characters that you will remember long after you play.
If you enjoyed Phoenix Wright or any text based adventure for that matter, you will love Ghost trick. This definitely has one of the best plots in video games and has a unique gameplay style. This definitely one to add to your collection.

Innovative and addictive style of gameplay, engaging story rich in creativity without being cliche, catchy music that fits the situation in the game, and a cast of unforgettable characters and their eccentric personalities. Ghost Trick is truly a heartfelt and magical experience that proves how amazing a handheld video game can make someone feel and shows that the Nintendo DS is still a worthy console. Expand

One of the best games on the DS. IGN summed it up perfectly by saying that Ghost Trick brings innovation to an ageing genre. The game draws your total attention for the full 12 hours of game play. I was fixated for the duration and near tears come the end. Whilst there is a lot of text and sometimes you would just like to get on with the game, the storyline is gripping and the characters memorable and heart warming. Don't miss this game! Expand

Hands down, one of the best games on DS. Ghost Trick is completely brilliant from start to finish- with great puzzles, fantastic characters, an engaging story and a truly awesome ending. Each character is fully realised, and everyone has a part to play in this stellar tale. The puzzles can be a bit hit and miss occassionally, but you'll forgive it, if only because it's so utterly likeable. Expand

I was really disappointed with this game given its quite high user reviews. The flow is terrible you are constantly having to click on dialog boxes. The story line is really bad, which would be less of a problem if you could skip the story. The puzzles are not worth the wait to get to them. Don't waste your money. Expand
