  1. When not playing single-player or against friends, spend some time with one of seven mini-games; okay, so they're not all that fun, but playing it will unlock pieces for building your own custom Robo Ky, which is. [May 2006, p.61]

Despite the changes made to simplify Dust Strikers' core fighting engine, the combo system is surprisingly comprehensive.
  3. An extremely cool game that is full of some really amazing innovations, but ultimately ends up a victim of its own creativity.
  4. The inclusion of the power-ups severely cheapens the game, changing it from a competitive fighting game into a wannabe party title.
  5. Just a hodgepodge of a game that is marred by its overly ambitious efforts to be something unique.

With tasty graphics and a finely-tuned battle engine, Dust Strikers is another quality entry into the Guilty Gear series that while not offering anything new (or better) than other DS fighting games, is still an enjoyable game.
  7. But while Arc has obviously attempted a Super Smash Bros-style game within the Guilty Gear universe, the end result is something truly horrendous.

As far as fighters go, this one is actually pretty decent and fresh. Sure, the controls are odd, and the story mode is whack, but the combo system is solid, and the soundtrack is good, though lacking some of the classic Guilty Gear songs (No Mercy is regretfully absent here, but I did hear Lady Fascination in there), but four player fights are FUN, even if three of the fighters are the CPU more often than not. Did I mention that there's a customizable fighter in here too? Sadly, he doesn't have very many moves...ah, well, Guilty Gear fans will not be disappointed. Expand

Even ignoring the fact that it clearly As an avid Guilty Gear fan, this game was the single most disappointing thing I have ever played. Even ignoring the fact that it clearly can't play like a regular GG game due to the 4-player and multi-tiered stages, it doesn't even play well as a party brawler. Heck, Guilty Gear Advance was a much more faithful adaptation of the series than this. If you want to play GG, buy a main game from the series (e.g. not DS or Isuka). If you want a fun party brawler, buy Jump Ultimate Stars. Expand
