What impressed me the most was the quality of the music. While not as pristine as you'll hear on a Dolby Digital console, the DS boasts some impressive quality, and if you pipe it through a home stereo (or a Thunderbox Amp) you can really punch up the bass and immerse yourself in the concert experience.
Of course, you can’t match the exact same rock n’ roll experience of holding a guitar in your hands but it comes very close. So remember: find a comfortable way to hold the DS and grip before playing and rock the hell out of it.

While the flight does get bumpy at times due to some wrist issues and limited song choices the overall experience is still intact.
Guitar Hero: On Tour tries its best to convert an uncovertible game. The music is good and the rhythm-based playing is fun enough, but the fails at creating the illusion of rocking out. [Sept 2008]
Personally, I enjoy the idea and most of the execution, but it doesn't live up to the previous titles (except maybe Rock the 80's), and it still has a way to go before it completely impresses me.
A curiosity to be indulged and then discarded in favor of another round of full-sized guitar heroism.
For people with DSs, there are at least ten better rhythm games on the system, and for Guitar Hero fans, this is nothing but pointless.
Pido perdón a mi pantalla táctil por rallarla de esa forma desesperada con este videojuego. No era mi culpa. Extraordinaria idea la que tuvo Activision para llevar la saga a portátil sin perder la esencia de sentirte tocando unas cuerdas imaginarias.

A great adaptation of the classic Guitar Hero formula. While the hand grip controller attachment is a little cramped, I still found you were still able to play the game at a high level and it works surprisingly well. If you play for longer sessions though, your hand may start to cramp up. Good Setlist as well.

It's Guitar Hero, on the DS! Not much else you need to know! It works very well, just as good as the console versions. Although you have only 4 keys this time so veterans may find it a little easy. The music selection is pretty good. 25 songs plus a hidden unlockable song which are all very good in my opinion. Songs from the 70's, 80's, 90's and the 00's. You will be served no matter your preference. New additions to the gameplay using the DS' features are all in the "Battle" mode. Some attacks your oponent sends you can have you blow in the microphone to extinguised the fire on your **** or rapidly sign a fan's t-shirt blocking your cords, which is honestly pretty neat. I would have given it a 9 out of 10 but the game IS painful on longer periods of play since you hold the whole thing with one wrist but the time you spend playing it (recommend shorter sessions), is a real blast!

The re-playability of this game is lacking. There is no online versus mode, only local wireless. In local wireless mode, players can play songs or battle. With only 25 songs and no ability to download more, there is no real reason to play after completing a difficulty unless the player really likes a song or two. The hope is that future music collections will be released to utilize the fret bar.
