  1. It's nothing short of an ingenious set-up and, while there's the odd glitch, in general matches are fast-paced and exciting.

Be sure to check out Inazuma Eleven and hope that it sells well enough to get the superior sequel also localised.

Even if football doesn't appeal, there's still a solid RPG experience to be had. [Nov 2011, p.95]

It may not have the size or depth that other more comprehensive RPGs possess (including Level 5's very own Dragon Quest IX) but Inazuma Eleven is a refreshing take on the genre that proves compelling despite its little foibles.

A great football game, a great RPG and a wonderful mix. If you like football or RPGs its for you. If you like both, and maybe even anime, then it is a must buy.

A lively, imaginative and fun RPG, with a football element charmingly blended in. And while some may wince at the unbearably chipper voice acting, there is considerable depth and human drama hidden behind its boyish enthusiasm.

The game's a solid and fun addition to the DS's heaving RPG roster, although it never quite sparks into life like you hope it will and feels a bit young at times.

Inazuma Eleven is an intriguing blend of RPG and soccer that works on so many levels, though the occasional scripted match leaves us crying in the stands.

A football sim and role-playing game may be one of the oddest genre mix-ups ever attempted but this shoots and scores with surprising accuracy.

The story, for all its daftness, is a charming one that pulls you in, and this being Level-5 the characters are superbly drawn and animated.

Inazuma Eleven is a charming RPG with a lot going on, but it doesn't offer a great game of football.

This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. Inazuma eleven is a one of the best games i have ever played! Its one hell of an experience. It is a football/soccer rpg and is incredible. Im not even a fan of football/soccer and i love this game. It has a satisfying and deep 15 hour storyline that has great dialogue. The gameplay is solid, it consists of special moves which are used to get past opponents, tackle opponents, save shots and score goals and looks pretty cool when you perform them, even with the outdated graphics it looks pretty cool. The music is one of the best parts about the game. Its incredible and sounds great even for a ds game can be do good that ive literally just stopped playing at times just to listen to the music. Inazuma eleven is in my opinion, a must have title for the ds, great gameplay, beautiful music and a great story. If you still have a ds, this is a game you MUST experience! Full Review »
