"Kirby Squeak Squad" is very satisfying and enjoyable. The campaign and cutscenes are just terrible, but the gameplay is one of the most original concepts i've seen. A good DS game that will entertain you till the heart.

A simply generaric platformer. The story is non-existant, so lets not talk about it. The gameplay is bland but you can steal enemy's powers, which is only needed for boss fights and to get chests (about 3 per level). Chests are very easy to get and if you get all of them the first time around (which, again, isn't tough, nor are they hidden), the replayability does not exist. The level design nothing out of the extreme ordinary with little variety, the only special things you find in levels are areas to dig and cannons (ripped out of DKC). The "New" thing this time around is the ability to combine powerups that you have stored on the bottom screen (You can really only store 2 if you are getting chests, which is a bad thing). However, the combinations do not make brand new powerups, only other powerups that don't relate to what you combine. That was supposed to be the hook of the game, too bad it sucks. There are also minigames, which are short but sweet, but they don't really fit with kirby, and if they did would still feel tacked on. This game is also very very short, I beat it in a day, which obviously isn't a good thing. I feel the only good thing is the music, very catchy and overall good. But there are very few tracks and they are repeated often. If you're looking for a good game, skip it. If you're looking for a game for your kids or a short platformer for your DS, consider it. Pros
+Dual Screen capability allows the ability to combine abilities and items and hold items/abilities for later which brings a new fresh experience to the series
+The goal of collecting treasures is both challenging and rewarding due to the fact the contents consist of different rewards such as music test tracks, color changes, special enhancements to abilities, artwork puzzle pieces and even methods of increasing health or unlocking stages

I quite enjoyed this one, along with Amazing Mirror. This game brought back nostalgia even though it was a new release. It went back to the old style while introducing a new fresh story and some new abilities.

The only thing we didn't like about Squeak Squad is that it's a tad on the easy side...But there is no denying the ineffable charm of this title.

Stomach issues and assumption of Japanese linguistic ability aside, however, Squeak Squad is the most complete conventional Kirby side-scroller in some time. Yes, it may not be a "killer app" like Canvas Curse, but it's not trying to be.
  3. Though Kirby Squeak Squad rarely finds a way to challenge you, it's a clever and cute enough platformer to recommend to most DS owners.
