  • Summary: Designed after the famous KORG MS-10 music synthesizer, KORG DS-10 is a music-creation program for professional and aspiring musicians alike. The sound sources in the KORG DS-10 come from KORG, one of the world’s top musical instrument producers, and no effort was spared in the replication n of creating high-quality sounds. The Nintendo DS’s touch-screen controls are utilized to the fullest to provide an authentic feel and operability across a dual-screen layout that is unsurpassed in portable music creation. A 6-track/16-step sequencer enables precise control and provides a wide range of musical possibilities, and up to eight units can be linked via wireless connection to play together or to exchange sounds and songs. 1. As long as you're creative juices are flowing, you can play this as long as your DS lasts.
  2. A fantastic music creation tool for DS owners and pro producers alike. [Dec 2008, p.92]
  3. If you're interested in making music, the KORG DS-10 is a robust and powerful tool. But those looking for a more accessible DS sonic experience may struggle to make the most of it.

While the Korg DS-10 can produce some really cool sounds and it's fun to play around with, it isn't standalone, full-featured music software.

I'm giving this a ten because even though it has its limitations, it is a very satisfying and detailed sequencing program (given the platform). The real-time kaoss pad controls are AMAZING. I will add that part of the art of this thing is trying to keep things from getting muddy while sounding musical at the same time. The two synths are monophonic, which is a bummer, but if you're the kind of person who knows the value of limits, this becomes more of an interesting challenge than a hindrance - truthfully the sound capabilities of the DS can't handle any more options than the game gives you. Interesting surprise - you can control panning and volume for each channel.

Best $30 I've spent for a DS game by far.
