  1. A fine adventure with a cracking plot and some imaginative puzzles, only let down by some interface inconsistencies.
  2. Has more about it than many point-and-clicks, but it may prove frustrating.
  3. Despite its flaws, the last King of Africa turned out to be a very entertaining game for people with a soft spot for this type of genre. Too bad that the game has too many flaws to attract new gamers. The puzzles are original, without ever getting frustrating.
  4. Last King of Africa is a remake of the adventure game with the same name released for the PC in 2006. Given that Benoît Sokal, responsible for classic adventure games such as Syberia and Syberia 2, is a member of the development team this game is a big disappointment. It's a decent adventure game but it lacks that certain something that makes the experience memorable.
  5. A nice approach to DS development, but the whole thing was slightly doomed to failure by the hardware. [Dec 2008, p.72]
